Hi ya’ll! I know I’ve been quite for the past day or so, but we have been out doing stuff! I’ve got a ton of pictures for you!
Yesterday, the “highlight” of my day was going to EarthFare. It was really cool, and I’m definitely jealous we don’t have one of these in Cleveland. They had a ton of free samples (which I didn’t take pictures of) – but we sampled: cheese, gouda mashed potatoes, steak with asparagus, white pizza, lemon poppyseed cake, and asian quinoa. I’d definitely have to say the highlight of our time there – was when I walked down this aisle:
I honestly shrieked with excitement and did a little jig. Very discrete
They had almost every single Larabar flavor they have – I think the only one that was missing was the Coconut Cream one – whatever comes in the white wrapper. Here are the one’s I ended up buying:
- Chocolate Coconut
- Cinnamon Roll
- Banana Bread
- Lemon
- Key Lime Pie
- Ginger Snap
- Pistachio
Then, we decided we would eat lunch/dinner there. I got half of a chicken caesar wrap (which was bland to be quite honest) – and then the salad bar. I have to admit, the salad bar had some really great stuff – but I topped my salad with their low-cal raspberry vinegarette, and it was SO gross. It didn’t completely ruin the salad, but it definitely put a damper on the taste.
Then we went home, watched some more deliciously crappy TV and took a nap. When we woke back up, Sarah left to go visit a friend, and Meri and I started working on a bottle of wine. After we finished THE FIRST (ahem – notice I said first, implying there were MULTIPLE) – we decided to open up a bottle of Blueberry wine that Meri had gotten at Hanover Park Vineyards.
It was pretty interesting! It was good – I don’t know if I would buy a full bottle of it though – it was pretty sweet. After that was done, I spilled a drink – and decided it was time for bed!
This morning – we got up, and I made the exact same breakfast as yesterday – some eggs, and yogurt. Then once we got ready, we headed out to grab some lunch and sight see in downtown Charleston. For lunch – we ended up at Cici’s. Not very originally – I know. When I’m on vacation – I like to stop and eat at places that we don’t have up north – but Cici’s was what sounded the best to all of us. I had two huge plates of salad -and a plate of pizza. Here’s the 1st plate of salad:
Downtown Charleston is BEAUTIFUL! There are so many big pretty houses, and awesome stores and restaurants! We walked around trying to see everything, and hit up the open air Market. While we were walking down the street – we walked by Wet Willie’s – which I had been told I needed to stop at. There was a HUGE wall of slushie machines, with a ton of different flavors. Apparently they make all the slushies with 190 percent grain alcohol. Here’s half the wall of drinks, and my drink (“attitude adjustment” mixed with “sex on the beach“):
And here is Sarah’s – she got sour apple – such a pretty green:
Once we finished our drinks at Wet Willie’s – it was looking pretty stormy and gray looking so we headed back towards the car. I got distracted on the way, and had to stop in a candy store! Another “vacation splurge” that I felt was appropriate. Here’s what I got:
YUMMY!
In the bag, there’s:
- gummi bears
- mini swedish fish
- crazy frogs
- techno bears
- grapefruit slice
Because of the rain, we just ended up going back home to veg out for a little while. Then we headed to the store to get some more wine, and some supplies for dinner. I ended up making turkey wraps, with a side of carrots and hummus.
That’s about it! Now you are back up to speed! We are just staying in tonight again – and then tomorrow’s my last day because we are driving back to Wilmington because my flight leaves early Tuesday morning! Hope you all had a great weekend!
