A very scary Halloween…

We only had about 20 trick or treaters.  That’s it! :(

For dinner, I made our “special” version of tacos – which makes life easier on everyone I feel.  Mike and I both like different taco shells (I like soft shells – he likes hard shells)   And he always has more than me, so even if we get those new fancy “split” boxes that have both types of shells – no one is happy.

SOOO – knowing that Mike is easy to please – one day – I decided to just throw all of the taco fixin’s into a pan/skillet – and throw a bag of tortilla chips on the table!   And now it’s become the only way we make tacos.  I also usually take out salsa, sour cream, and cheese, because we have different philosophies on taco toppings!   We both dig in to the skillet with the chips and top with whatever we want!   Here’s the skillet:

  • 93% lean turkey meat
  • green, red, orange bell pepper
  • green olives
  • black olives
  • jalapenos
  • taco mix packet
  • purple onion
  • tomato

I usually take out some lettuce, and then scoop the taco mix on top of it with salsa – to make my own little taco salad!

Mike prefers to top with cheese and sour cream – no lettuce.  EVERYONE’S HAPPY! :)

Now on to the “frightening” part of the evening.  We rented The Strangers – which I was originally terrified to watch – because all of the previews I remember seeing looked SO SCARY.   Turns out – the movie is a whole bunch of walking around, knocking on the doors, and music playing.  Not really scary at all. :(   Sorry to spoil for anyone.

We started watching another movie – but I fell asleep on the couch.  When I got up to go to bed – I put the dog on the bed, went to brush my teeth, and came back to find a puddle of pee – in the middle of our duvet (with down comforter inside!)

So then I ended up staying up SUPER late, because I wanted to clean all of the pee covered items, as soon as possible.

Now I know Lando didn’t mean to do it – but that was the second time – and she hops of the bed ALL THE TIME.  Oh well – that’s what you get with dog ownership.

But wait – it gets better.  I wake up at 6:45 (after staying up until 3am cleaning the pee sheets) – to hear her throw up on the bed.

I’m not joking.  She peed and puked on our bed in a matter of 5 hours.

So maybe I’m stretching it with the “scary/frightening” night stuff – but it was certainly irritating to say the least. :(

For breakfast – we didn’t have a whole lot in the house, and I didn’t really feel like oatmeal.  So, I made some sweet potato chips.  They were delicious and totally hit the spot.

The one advantage to getting up early – is that the entire house has already been cleaned.  I vacuumed, dusted, swept, did dishes, did laundry, and I’m about to go pick up Lando poops from the back yard (HEY – THAT’S THE ONLY THING SHE HASN’T DONE ON THE BED AT THIS POINT!)

“I told you not to take my picture Mom.  I’ll get you back for this.”

Hope you are having a great weekend!   Hopefully with less pee and puke than mine! :P
