I came home from work on Friday – to a SWEEEEEET package sitting on the kitchen counter. The lovely, wonderful, amazing Miss Tiffany at Chobani sent me 8 CONTAINERS TO SAMPLE! Thank you so much! I can’t wait to dig in! Here’s the stash:
I didn’t try any yet – I don’t want to break into them, they look so pretty and delicious. I’m going to start trying them out tomorrow though – no worries!
I headed out to go shopping by myself, and on the car ride to the store, I talked with my mom on the phone, and she was going to the mall too, so I made a u-turn to head to her house, so that we could do our trip together!
When I got to my parents, I had some time to kill, so I made myself “breakfast”. Breakfast was non-traditional – but that’s how all of my weekends seem to go. I made a tortilla with a little bit of cheese, some spinach, and some banana peppers; while waiting for my mom to get ready because we were heading out to the mall together.
And when it took longer than I anticipated, I cut up and apple with some natural chunky PB
The PB was gross – I think the fact it was chunky is what through me for a loop. Oh well – it was free since I was at my parents!
I had a gift card for the Gap (and a 30% off friends and family coupon) – so I got a ton of great stuff! Not to mention, I bought MUCH NEEDED NEW JEANS – AND THEY WERE A SIZE 8! Now I know for some of you, that might not seem like a small size, but for me – it’s FANTASTIC. I haven’t been in a size 8 since the summer of 2003! I definitely considered my shopping trip a success!
For lunch – Mike and I decided to use our “one meal out for the week” per our Thanksgiving Challenge rules, and we went to Arby’s. I’m not sure if it’s a nationwide promotion, but after seeing commercial after commercial for 99cent Roast Beef sandwiches, we caved in!
It was RAINING and MISERABLE all day long. And I’m not talking about a drizzle – I’m talking about pouring. ALL DAY LONG. So once I was finished with the mall and lunch, we bummed around for the remainder of they day. Around 5 – I was hungry for just a snack since the Arby’s really filled me up, so I had an orange.
These two pictures crack me up, because this is what I managed to catch in the view finder, as I was trying to snap a picture of my orange on the coffee table. Nosy Rosy Lando wanted to play:
Like little doggy ghost paws - you don’t see the body, you just see them reaching out of no where!
We were FINALLY hungry for something more substantial around 9 – so I made a veggie quesadilla with the leftovers from last night:
Here’s what I did! Preheat the oven to 375 or 400. You’ll need:
- 2 tortillas
- 2 laughing cow cheese wedges (french onion works deliciously well)
- veggies of choice (we had black beans, corn and onions)
- chili powder
- garlic powder
- 1 slice of low cal american cheese
That’s it – throw it all together, and then bake it for around 10 minutes. It came out nice and crisp around the edges and all the cheese and veggies were perfectly melted! From above:
From the side
Then around 10 we actually headed out to a friend’s house to watch the UFC fight. Any other food bloggers out there who also happen to be UFC fans? Tonight was pretty interesting, that’s why I ask! Okay time for bed! Hope you all had a fantastic Saturday!
