Chicken embryos

So I’m really starting to freak out about the 10 mile race tomorrow.  I’m not sure why, but it hit me all of a sudden, and now my stomach keeps doing a crazy flip flop each time my mind wanders to it!

EEK!  Any last minute advice or pointers???

Breakfast.  Shocker:

Ate it both yesterday and today!

Lunch yesterday was a salad – which I made a little more colorful than usual to try and rid myself of salad boredom:

I’d say it worked out – especially with the carrots and hummus I snuck in on the side!

Dinner was SO boring (and kinda gross looking honestly) – but it was the FASTEST and easiest thing I could find!  Vegetarian chili:

and 2 – 40 calorie hot dogs – that just end up looking super phallic here – sorry ya’ll!

Mike and I took Lando on a quick walk after dinner, then headed up to Circle K to get Polar Pops – (yes, we are extremely fancy people) – you know how I feel about DDP!

Earlier this week, I was just thinking how sad I was that the Easter season had passed, and I didn’t eat one single, deliciously gooey filled Cadbury egg.  I’d even checked all Easter candy sales at Target and Giant Eagle – but no luck!   Well what to do you know – I walk in to dinky dirty little Circle K – and I see a FULL SHELF of CADBURY EGGS!

AWESOME!   When I was in high school – my friends and I would call them chicken embryos – because we thought the word embryo was hysterical (translation – we were ‘TOTALLY COOL”) – and I still laugh and think of that every time I eat one! Look at the ooey gooey goodness!!!!

Just what I had been craving!  Although – I think it was getting “old” because the inside wasn’t as “liquidy” as I remember.  Maybe it’s just old age!

At lunch today – I ran downtown to pick up my race packet (remember how I said I was freaking?  that didn’t help the freaking one bit), and came back to my lunch already prepared!   We have a cookout every once in a while where the Senior Team cooks for the entire staff – always a great lunch on a Friday!

I was SUPER lucky today becuase I was even able to score a veggie burger!!! It’s the litlte things in life that keep me happy!  What you don’t see… the 10 cheez balls I shoved in my face as I was walking back to my desk because I was so hungry!

Okay – off to stress out about my race in the morning enjoy the beautiful weather outside!  HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!

I love Cadbury Cream Eggs. I didn’t get to any this year though. I ate too many Mini-Eggs. Cool colorful salad.

Good luck on your race tomorrow! Don’t worry about it – you’ll have so much adrenaline that it’ll be easy!

Good luck with your race, and thanks for your sweet comment!

I call “regular eggs” chicken embryos and am relieved that I’m not the only weirdo to find that pretty funny.

Woo hoo for your race!!! I’m sure you did an amazing job and I can’t wait to hear your recap. Even if it was scarier than you expected, you should still be proud of yourself for training and completing a 10 MILE RACE!!!! WAY TO GO!

p.s…puppy Charley was just digging on the couch and it reminded me of Lando. :)
