I started the week out on a different foot (read – I was too lazy to make oatmeal Sunday night/Monday morning) – so breakfast was PB Puffins and Vanilla Soy Milk.

and then I rode my bike to work like a good TSL participant – earning extra points!
For lunch I had a salad (that was pretty bare until I stole the cafeteria donated a few tomatoes and banana peppers to):

I was really craving some carbs yesterday afternoon – so I fished this out of the bottom of my desk drawer – it’s one of my favorite Clif flavors!

I ate this while perusing the menu at 56 West – where I had a date night with my girlfriends. I had gone there a few months ago with my family before a Cavs game, and been raving out the food ever since. They decided it was time we all try it!
I had my complete order all picked out before we even got there. I knew it was enough food to stuff me, and bring home a big meal for Mike (and it was all under $20)! Gotta love that!
Appetizer – Spicy Fried Pickles!

These were unbelievably good, but SUPER greasy. I had almost the whole bowl (with the exception of 3) and felt pretty sick to my stomach afterward. I don’t need reminders that fried food doesn’t agree with my belly – but for some reason, last night I decided to ignore all of that.
Aren’t this little table knick-knacks fun? We tried to figure out what we thought each of them were.
My guess here – an alien head (the two little nubs are the eyes?)

At first I thought this was some weird duck/pelican thing, but upon further inspection – maybe a guy dipping a girl for a kiss?

Tell me what you think!
I ordered the “$10 Large Plate” for my meal- where you got to pick a meat, a salad, and a carb. I only wanted the salad and carb since I had my delicious spicy pickles – and the meat was what I was taking home for Mike.
My salad – Caesar – which was phenomenal. The homemade dressing had a very huge zing to it, almost like the secret ingredient was wasabi or something!

Mike’s Flat Iron Steak, and three-way-potatoes:

And as if that weren’t enough (apparently the potatoes pictured above didn’t count as my side) – they brought me ANOTHER side of potatoes – it was seriously an INSANE amount of food for $10!
Stuffed and somewhat sick to my stomach – we headed home – and I went to bed pretty early. I’ve been having all sorts of weird dreams lately that have been making my sleep really restless! I’m hoping to sleep well the rest of the week so I’m in “tip-top” shape for the race on Sunday.
Thanks for all your interest in my exciting news. I ran it by those “2 people” I had to check with – and they asked me to wait a few days (possibly sometime next week even). As soon as I get the okay – I’ll fill you all in!
And no, Kate – I am not pregnant, but thanks for getting imaginative with it!

I just saw your question on my blog about ear cleaning. My DR recommended that I use some drops (over the counter brand is fine). Once a month apply them to each ear and let them sit there for a few minutes, then tip my head over and let the drops drain out. I am kind of nervous to do anything to my ears after what I just went through so I am not sure when or if I will do that.
My hubs loves fried pickles – but then again he loves anything battered and deep fried. One time he tried fried Oreos.

wow, Erin is so right! I didn’t pick up that they were both dancers until I read her comment, but now I can definitely see it. but i also see what you were saying and ducks and pelicans — from that perspective, the birds are getting a little bit frisky …
Good luck with the sleep!

I totally thought you were preggers as well. But then remembered you had some wine recently so that wasn’t it, or – it could have been, but I was totally judging you

Those pickles look great!
The second sculpture looks like a mother holding up her child and kissing him, at least to me. It reminds me of Alexander Calder’s sculptures.
