Blech

It’s how I’ve been feeling lately.  Happy, but blah.   I’ve learned from experience (sports, high school, college, wedding) if I don’t have an event to be planning/working for – I start to feel…well…just BLAH.  I love goals.  I like to have things set out to work towards.  Now that the half marathon is over, and I don’t have a gym members, and my bootcamp session is coming to an end – I keep asking myself  “Okay – what next?”  – but I’ve got nothing!

Does this happen to any of you? I’m thinking its the Type A in me (the good type A, right Erin?) – but I need to get my act together.  My recent thoughts have gone something like this:

  • Bootcamp was great – I’d love to do it again, but it’s just too damn expensive
  • Well, I do have the River Run Half Marathon on September 13th -I could start training for that early
  • Should I run the Walt Disney World Marathon in December? I want to, but here we go back to the “expensive” topic, and I live in Ohio – that would mean 20 mile runs on the TREADMILL in December
  • Why don’t I just run the Columbus Marathon in October?
  • Wait, why am I talking about marathons now?

Kind of all over the place, I know, but you get the drift.  I love being challenged – and I’m just not feeling any direction for my “next steps” – any advice from my lovely readers is welcomed!

On to the goods!

Spicy oats, DUH!

All mixed up!  Looks disgusting, tastes like heaven:

Do ya’ll remember Chareleston Chews???  Someone brought in a box of  “mini’s” – I didn’t even know they still sold them!

and while there are 3 pictured here, I managed to “accidentally” eat the 3/4ths of the box during a meeting!

This salad for lunch – sucked.  I’m not making any excuses.  I’m tired of the iceberg, and ready for my Aldi produce to just LOSE it’s funk already!

After a busy afternoon that flew by at work – I was starving – and crabby (not sure why, maybe because of the above?) so I wanted NOTHING that was in our house – but came up with this “dinner” (I use the term very loosely):

picture-0071

Tuna Melt-ish type sandwich (was actually pretty good – but looks pretty bad), and green beans.  Boring with a capital B!

That’s all I got – yesterday’s food was boring/depressing – and now I just need to make it through a few more hours and it’s officially the weekend!   Happy Friday kiddos!

Friday Fix!  It’s been at least a week!

These really cracked me up, per usual (I’m lame – I know!)

I had been wondering where you went!!! Great site! The offer is still up for a fancy-schmancy new header if you want at any time ;)

I totally feel you. I finished my 10k last week and I have no idea what to do with myself now. I’m thinking of running a half marathon in October, so I guess I could start training for that? But the thought of a full marathon is strangely appealing, too…. Hmmph. Can’t wait to see what you decide!

Ahh! First, I totally understand. I am like you where I get blah and kind of lost when there’s not a goal. So I signed up for the Disney marathon (in Jan.!) and immediately felt better! :)

I am moving to Oviedo next month (25-30 minutes) from Disney and already have two other marathoners staying with me that weekend. You are more than welcome to join in! That would cut down on the “expensive” part! You know, as long as you like cute little puppies and all :)

It’s always hard to get back to normalcy after something is all-consuming for awhile. I remember nearly going crazy the week after law school finals, because I didn’t know what to do with myself when I wasn’t studying 12 hrs a day.

What about trying for a triathalon? Or taking tennis lessons…or just something new?

First of all I just saw your cute little logo at the top with your tag line and it’s fantastic!

2ndly, why are you talking about marathons?

3rdly, if you are going to talk marathons then do the C-bus one in October because Hello, I will be there. ‘Nuff said.

Put hotsauce or buffalo sauce in your green beans, it is so super tasty! Happy Friday sister!

Love the new site, and the new banner. I recently started eating spicy oats, I love them but my husband is disgusted my them. He strongly believes that oats are meant to be sweet. Silly men… :D

Hey! I am running the half in Columbus in Oct!! :) Another type A personality here. ;)

20 miles on the treadmill sounds horrible! ACK!

This sounds like a page from my book! I was SO anxious yesterday because I don’t have anything to do – I need structure!

That GPS picture – the brat rides in the car like that!! She’s SO WEIRD! I’ll have to try to track down the picture I took of her.

aww, I know how you feel. I gotta have something to do, even if its just for me like getting a manicure or else I feel “blah” too! try maybe a hobbie? I know scrapbooking for me has given me something to do for hours and makes great table talk and gifts for family and friends. Got old pics all over in boxes? Put them in a book and keep the book out where people may see it, or just you to reflect and remember good ol’ times, heeh!

it took me a second to find you! yay for the new site!

i’m also very goal driven. i tend to have too many sometimes that it can get overwhelming. oh well… i live. :)

sorry the iceberg sucked. have you tried kale? what about a nice romaine mix-up. cabbage with a homemade asian dressing?

[Reply]

Oi, sorry about your racing head. I hate when that happens, and it’s been happening a lot for me recently… I just graduated from college, moved back to my home city, and am having a little life bonk myself. Hang in there! The Charleston Chews will help :-)

I LOVE savory oats… never added a “sausage” patty before, though, so I’ll have to get on that.

your new banner is so cute!

i can’t believe you’re thinking about marathons! that’s amaaaaaazing and so cool. (but please don’t make yourself run 20 miles on the treadmill! that sounds like death.) i am certainly not feeling any post-half blues, but i think it’s because being freed from running training has led me to discover hot yoga! i’m so excited about it (though i’ve only taken one class, haha) … i think it might be my new project!
