Quinn had a really interesting post today, that really got me thinking! Check it out!
I’ve always been on that line, on those BMI charts – teetering between “healthy” and “overweight”. Does that bother me? No! Would it bother other people? Sure, maybe – and that’s fine! Everyone’s entitled to their own thoughts and opinions – that’s what makes the world such a diverse place! No two people think alike!
Bottom line – I’m a firm believer (LIKE QUINN) that everything in moderation, leads to a healthy, happy life. Or at least that’s my story – and I’m stickin’ to it! GDW peeps – would agree that’s how I operate, based on what I post every day?
Also – while we are on the topic of “posts that got me thinkin’…” – check out Heather’s recap of Food Inc. – REALLY interesting, I can’t wait for the movie to come to Cleveland!
On to food…
Boring breakfast – yogurt and cereal:

Fabulous coffee because of my new obsession – HAZELNUT flavored agave – MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

Lunch – Naturally More with carrots – I apparently use the Naturally More jar as my artistic canvas!

I didn’t prepare well enough for the week with veggies – so I had to go canned *but stayed ORGANIC!)

This was my first time trying Annie’s cheese ravioli – and I decided to spice it up by adding onion, banana peppers, and bell peppers:

End result was FABULOUS! I’m definitely buying more cans to keep handy for days when the produce is dwindling!
Dinner was the same thing – had to sort of scrounge – but I ended up with a brightly colored plate:

Green beans, eggs (with picante sauce), black beans, & whole grain rice!
Mike and I went out and signed up for Costco last night – so by the time we got home, it was close to 9, and I was pooped! However, all the whole sale club walkin’ around had made me hungry – so I broke into our fruit stash…

The most fabulous crunchy grapes I’ve tasted yet this season – and a rather mushy “bleh” orange.
Alright kiddos – it’s past my bed time – time to hit the hay!

That was an interesting article. I’ve really made a strong effort the past six months or so to eat and exercise better. I knew that my normal weight could easily creep into being overweight. But despite the better eating and exercising, my weight hasn’t changed all that much. But…I feel better. My clothes fit better. I am healthier. Strength training has made an enormous difference. I imagine I could be as skinny as I was when I had serious eating problems if I just quit eating for enjoyment. But who wants to do that…I want to be at a healthy weight but also be happy. And I can’t do that if I only weigh 100 pounds.

Ohh I had some really crunchy grapes today too! They were the best ones I’ve had in a looong time.

That Annie’s meal looks seriously good right now! I blame it on the rain
Everything in moderation is the way to go! As long as there’s a healthy balance between eating well/indulging/working out that’s all that matters!

My hubby and I were just contemplating joining Costco – you’ll have to keep us updated on how often you use it and if it’s ultimately worth it!

Thanks for the shout out – twice! And I’m glad we have a very similar mentality about things
Love that you portioned off your dinner into 1/4’s too. Feels a little restaurant-esque!
