Thanks for all the sweet compliments yesterday for Mike’s birthday. Ya’ll really know how to make a guy (and gal for that matter!) feel good!

Yesterday was a non-stop celebration of Mike’s birthday – most of it involving food, which really kept me happy!

Breakfast I was on my own (at the office) – so it was the usual staple of Spicy Oats:

My friend just got back from a trip with her family so she had 3 different types of candy sitting on her desk to be “shared with all” – I obviously jumped at the chance to try these suckers:

Took me right back to being a little kid – I LOVED Lemonheads – I was always a fan of that sweet/sour candy! These didn’t disappoint!

Although the red ones definitely tasted like cough syrup – no thanks!

For lunch, Mike picked Melt Bar & Grill (which is where I picked for my birthday, and where we went for one of our anniversary meals). I can’t get enough of the ooey-gooey deliciousness this place serves! I went with the “Kindergarten” – plain old grilled cheese – your choice of cheese! The end result:

Then – Mike picked me up directly from work, to head to Kent so that we could meet his parents, and have another birthday celebration meal – this time, and Rockne’s! (also where I went for my birthday meal with them – he’s such a copy cat)

Buffalo Chicken Salad – with their house dressing – I’ve yet to meet a better salad!

His momma brought a Birthday “Cookie” – which I just couldn’t turn down:

Why can’t these ever be hard, crumble yucky cookie? Then I could turn it down!

I’m not a frosting fan, so I went for the plainest piece I could find!

By the time we were headed home, we were both sufficiently stuffed – and tired!

Random: Anyone feel like “Lando”-sitting next Saturday (June 13th?) LET ME KNOW!

I’m loving the big girl blog!! Congrats on your move Glad Mike had a great birthday! Ewww lemon heads!! Did you ever have those war things (so descriptive, I know) that were all sour and fizzy?

I am jealous of both your grilled cheese AND cookie cake! I would so babysit the Landerbean but I’m quite a few hours away!

mmmmmm that lunch looks sinfully amazingly good. im loving a restaurant all about melty cheese!!!! haha i got confused when i read lando for a second, that’s what i call Law And Order LOL. hope you find a good puppy sitter!

Ok, let me just say that I am not a creeper but when I saw your pic of Lando I was itchy to cuddle and sit him. Dont worry you can stalk my page too, I have Brandy, I think she is a post 2-3 back! (loveprevails.wordpress.com)
And your Birthday celebration was ADORABLE! The pics made me only hope that that is what I can have when I get married (i am 21 with a serious bf, but not getting married for a couple years, hehe)

Ooh Cookie Cake! That stuff is so good. I remember they had cookie cake in the mall, and when I was younger I’d always beg my mom for a slice! It was such a great treat when she let me have one. That stuff is amazing!

Aw, wish I’d Lando-sit, but Hillbean is a bit of a nightmare when we bring other doggies home. We’re working on it.

Darn, I wish I lived closer but alas I don’t think NC is close enough to dog sit. Lando is the cutest ever (except for my own little dingo, Lacy). I always have my husband check your blog when Lando is on, especially the digging post. Too funny!

If you live anywhere in the Bay Area or the whole state of California..I would happy to babysit little Lando!!

I haven’t had cookie cake since I was at boarding school which was 2 years ago!! We would always get it in the dorm and it is the most addicting and amazing invention in the world! If we ever get a cookie cake together one day, I think we would be a great CC couple since I am ALL about the frosting!
