Hi internet. Allison is off having fun in the sun for the weekend and so I, the devoted husband, have been given the task of posting a Saturday update. Duck and cover, here it comes.
First things first: I wish my name was Doug. Or Dean. Then the post title could have been something clever, like “Green Doug Wine” or “Dean Dog Wine.” Unfortunately my parents didn’t have the foresight to name me one of these things, so Mike’s Guest Post was the best I could come up with.
Second things second: Allison suggested that perhaps I would like to make this post about the things I eat, but I think I can sum up my daily diet with a single picture (taken with my Dream Camera):

Sigh. If only...
With my update out of the way, I’ll now give you a recap of Allison’s Friday eats in the most Allisonesque fashion I can.
(Note (seriously, please note): this is all in good fun, I love my wife dearly and am extremely proud of her and this blog.)
Here we go:
Happy Saturday, lovelies!
I ran a long 7 miles this morning and boy are my arms tired [Mike: this part is true (well, except for the arms part). She's well on her way to kicking the marathon's @$$].
Here’s a quick rundown of yesterday, then it’s off to Catawba–WOOT WOOT!
I started out the day with a mug of this stuff:

I think this is the one I call a Ruby Slipper, but there’s very little ruby visible here. So I guess it was just a Slipper–MMMMMMMMMM!
Next, for no reason at all, LANDY BEAN!!!

Lunch was salad. Here’s a picture of it:

Also, some other junk:

Question: have you ever had one of those ALL OF A SUDDEN IT’S BEANIE AGAIN!!!

For a snack I ate some sort of larva–YUM!

Allison assures me this is a date covered with peanut butter. Which is exactly what it looks like. Right?
I am loving La Croix Sparkling Water, especially the lime (I told you I love green!). So good!

[Mike: A quick editorial complaint here. Allison does, in fact, love La Croix, but to me it's a tease. You smell it and you swear it's going to taste good, but when you drink it there's no flavor. Am I the only one who feels cheated by this stuff?]
Dinner was an oldie (well, it’s an oldie where I come from): I made a low-cal pizza with wheat dough and banana peppers. A few green beans to fill it out? Yes, please.

Hope you all have a great weekend and, oh yeah, here’s another pic of BARNEY!!!

And…scene.
Alright, that about does it. Laugh if you want, but having witnessed the rapid evolution of Lando’s nicknames, I can guarantee Allison will in fact be calling her Barney by the end of the month. Beanie to Barney’s not that far of a leap.
Well foodies, thanks for putting up with me. I feel good about the post–I think the WOOT WOOT was pretty spot on, though I admit I don’t know Allison’s rules about when to make fonts a different color or bold. Still, nothing with a Back to the Future reference can be all bad, right?
Enjoy this fine June weekend everyone, and come back tomorrow for your regularly scheduled programming.
Seeya,
Doug Mike
If you don’t want to read a post that is so dog filled you may vomit, then avert your eyes NOW!
Lando and I both made sure to eat a BIG breakfast so that we had LOTS of energy for the big day!

As soon as we got in to the office, Lando made herself right at home, and made fast friends with Kaycee (my friend Kelly’s dog)

She felt so comfortable, that she had no trouble hunkerin’ down, smack dab in the middle of the entire office walk way:

She helped Kaycee destroy her stuffed lobster (sorry ROSE!) – but didn’t do a good job of hiding the evidence…

There was even a bake sale – that had “human treats” and “doggie treats” – so of course I bought some fancy stuff for Landy:

Aren’t those cute?
The rest of the day was pretty much a blur – in every sense of the word! I couldn’t get a single good picture of the girls playing, because they were going a million miles a minute!

Chasing each other

Feeling so sorry for themselves because we barricaded off all the entrances (BOTH OF THEM ESCAPED TWICE!!!!!!!!!):

Chasing my co-workers:

This is as close as Lando got to her bed all day long. So glad I dragged it all the way in!

Before lunch, Lando helped me pull my TPS report:

Once “we” were finished our work (wink, wink) – we headed outside for a bathroom break, and to watch the hot dog eating contest!

The professional photographer got a picture of me -taking a picture of the hot dogs!

Did you see those bags with the stick figures? Those are barf bags – I know that – because the stick figure on the front is stick vomiting.

While we were outside – we found not 1 – but 2 PUGGLE FRIENDS! This one looked exactly like Lando – just lighter…

and this one was a cutie – but had more beagle in her than Lando does (her tail was curly – just not curly for this picture!)

All of the American Greetings Interactive people with their pups! (See me and Landy in the middle? TOTALLY representing the GREEN, and DOG in Green Dog Wine! WOOT WOOT!)

In the afternoon – there was more “feeling sorry for myself” action coming out of Lando:

Aren’t I so terrible for only allowing her 1,000 square feet to play in?
We ended the day with a meeting, where Lando showed off her wheelin’ and dealin’ skills:

“You’ve got something I want. Give it to me now.”
After Lando failed to properly negotiate herself a Dorito – she ended up in my lap, and was asleep in 30 seconds – here we are together just moments before she finally called it a day:

Honestly - I’m not sure who was more tired – me, or her! She slept all night long (which is usually her “romp’n'play” time!
Wait. Is this a food blog? Because I certainly just talked a whole crap load about my dog. Oh yeah – I did warn you that would happen on the very first line of the post.
To humor the food aspect – here’s what I ate yesterday (you already saw breakfast)!

HAPPY FRIDAY MY LOVELIES!
I’m not sure who was more excited this morning, for Take Your Dog to Work Day – me, or Lando:

I’ll have the most dog filled post yet for you tomorrow!
Yesterday was a pretty cool day at work as well – so we’ll stick to that for this post!
Breakfast – Magic Bullet presents: Ruby Slipper!

Yesterday was our first “Ad Sales Picnic” – we headed out to the field outside our building:

Can you complain with that view and the gorgeous weather?

First, we were treated to Chipotle by our bosses!

My “bol” – Vegetarian with black beans, fajita veggies, corn salsa, tomato salsa, lettuce, and guac! I ate every last bite – and wanted to lick the bowl!

Then the friendly competition began, there was Corn Hole (is that just the OHIO name for it???)…

…Hillbilly Horse Shoes, and a Trivia Game about our department (which I TOTALLY dominated).

Then we headed inside and had a surprise shower for one of the guy’s on the team (his wife is pregnant).

All in all – a VERY NICE day at work!
When I got home – I went on a 4 mile walk with Kristin (7 miles logged yesterday in total – not too shabby!) When I got home, I definitely wanted something to eat for dinner – but the idea of anything warm just did NOT sound good. Instead – I went with half a cantaloupe:

Which I know doesn’t really count as a meal – but it was the quickest and easiest (and COLDEST) option I could find.
Then I headed over to my parents to drop off a card for my brother – whose recovering from his MILLIONTH knee surgery (okay – I think it’s just the 4th – but still, 4 knee surgeries before the age of 25??). He asked for some ice cream, so my Mom and I happily obliged, and headed up to the local ice cream shop. I decided I was not going to get anything – because I was sure nothing would be “Clean Life” approved.
Then – I saw – that they had – RASPBERRY SWIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah – life’s too short to pass up that sort of deliciousness!
Okay – gotta jet – Lando and I need to pull our TPS report!
