Maybe I’m not remember the definition correctly, but I chuckled to myself last night (hardly a rarity) as I was taking my “dinner pictures” in front on a watermelon. I was reminded of having to paint still life drawings in grade school. Confused? Read (or should I say “picture”) on!
After another mood-sing-filled bootcamp morning, I had a shocker of a breakfast:

Spicy oats! It really is so much prettier and more appealing when I make it at home – but the deliciousness is always consistent!
Around 10am, I hit a wall – I think all of this waking up in the 5 o’clock hour is starting to catch up to me, so I head to Starbucks… (yeah – American Greetings has their own Starbucks in the building – we are pretty awesome)

I got a tall regular coffee, and spiced it up with a Hazelnut (BEST.FLAVOR.EVER!) Splenda (GASP!!) See that cute little pupper in the background? That’s actually not Lando. That’s my parents dog – Murphy – as a pup. Love that sweet smushy face!
Lunch was leftovers from Melt, mixed with a depressing salad:

If I could only eat one type of cheese for the rest of my life – it would be stinky swiss!

I got home later than usual for work – but didn’t want to spend money on eating out, so I wanted something especially easy. My favorite go to:

TJ’s Whole Wheat Pizza Dough. I figured I owed ya’ll a picture! Every trip I make out to TJ’s – I buy 3 or 4 of these, and just keep them in the freezer. Then – I’ll take one out in the morning (typically on Monday) – because I figure we’ll eat pizza at least once during the week!
We kept it simple this time – and just went with plain old mozzarella cheese, no toppings:

Doesn’t that look heavenly?!

Mike had received some of his grades back for the recent semester (as usual – they were beyond GREAT!) – so of course a celebratory drink was in order! I opened a bottle of Chardonnay that I had gotten as a birthday present (see “still life” attempt #1):

Vincent Pouilly-Fuisse Chardonnay 2006 – nice and crisp and refreshing!
My slice of the pizza pie:

All together now (and “still life” attempt #2)

Such a fantastic meal and ending to the day!
Thanks for all your offers to pupper-sit Lando – she’s totally feeling love. Now if I could just find someone in this god-forsaken town to take care of her, we’d be all set!

I LOVE TJ’s pizza dough because it’s so cheap and delish.
I’ve been meaning to ask, what do you do at American Greetings?

My company has a Caribou in the building. I don’t buy anything there often, but it can come in handy.
My favorite cheese is probably gouda. I’ve never liked swiss. At first I disliked the holes. Then later I disliked the taste. It’s one of the few cheese I don’t like.
