Any iPod experts out there? I have quite the dilemma (I’m obsessed with my music!):
- All of my songs that are currently on my iPod, were kept on Mike’s computer.
- Mike just got a virus and had to COMPLETELY reset his computer – therefore erasing ALL OF MY SONGS!
Here’s where I need your help. I have about 75 purchased songs on my iPod, and 2,000 other songs (that I’ve acquired over the years). Itunes won’t recognize my iPod when I plug it in to his computer – and it just asks if I want to “Erase and Sync” – which would erase all my songs PERMANENTLY . Anyone know any secret tips, or have any advice as to how I get my songs OFF of my iPod and back on to my computer as actual files?!?!?!?! Please help! ![]()
I’m out of oats and eggs – and trying to not spend money until Friday – so it was OLD SCHOOL PB&J toast for breakfast:

with some leftover broccoli salad for lunch!

Thanks the awesome hook-up I got from the folks at Newman’s Own Organics – I had the best, sweet, treat ever!

I didn’t read all the flavors when I got the box of chocolates – so when I realized there was actually an Orange Dark Chocolate bar – I freaked with excitement!
While I wanted to eat the whole bar – my serving size was:

Verdict: 20 million times better than I expected (AND I HAD HIGH EXPECTATIONS!) That wonderful dark chocolate bite, with a hint of fresh orange – MMMMM HEAVEN!
The snack I had right before I left work, was less than exciting – PB and carrots:

But it held me over quite well – because I wasn’t sure what kind of food was going to be at this jewelry party.
When I got to my friends house – there was a TON of fabulous jewelry (it was Premier Jewelry for those of you who were wondering) to look at:

and a TON OF FOOD TO EAT!

My mouth started watering as I was looking at these pictures to try and post. My boss brought our “party favorite” – homemade spinach dip! (GOD I LOVE THIS STUFF!!!!)

Here’s what I ended up snagging:

On my plate, I’ve got:
- cucumbers, carrots, and some dip
- 1 extra large piece of veggie pizza (MMMMM!)
- some cheese
- a bacon stuffed tomato (I’m not a fan of bacon, but this app was too cute – I had to try it!)
- chips with buffalo chicken dip, and spinach dip
- sliver of stromboli!
SO SO SO YUMMY!
The party was a great time (I didn’t buy anything since we are a little tight on money right now) – but I didn’t get any pictures with me and my friends. How terrible am I? I remember to take pics of food, but not my wonderful friends! These are the girls (ladies really) who I’ve worked with for years, and we are getting together again in August – so I”ll just have to redeem myself then!
Hope you are all having a great week, and if anyone has an iPod advice – PLEASE SHARE!
Lastly – look at this sick picture of Madonna. Girlfriend needs a workout intervention (I’m being serious!)

Hey girl! Thanks so much for your sweet thoughts! Yes they are crocs, and they are my indoor shoes. I need comfortable indoor shoes because we have hardwood floors and my feet hurt a bit from running a lot in the past
Awesome blog! My favorite color is green too!!! I wonder if some people think I a tad bit crazy because everything I have is green. Have you seen that one green hatchback commercial?
Haha, anyways lovely eats! Yeah, especially that veggie pizza! Mmm!!

I love, love, love jewelry parties! I would have bought them all for sure. I wish I could help you with the IPOD dilemma but I’m horrible with technology. My IPOD still has the same songs from when I first purchased it b/c I could never figure out how to update or load more songs. Sad, but I’m too lazy to figure it out. Good luck though!

There is a free program called iPhone Browser that you can download that will allow you to take songs off your iPod and put them onto a computer. If you Google “iPhone Browser” you will find links to it and directions how to use it. I used it when my computer crashed to get the songs off my iPod. It will save all of the songs on your computer with file names that are just a bunch of letters, but once you put the files back into iTunes their correct names/artists will reappear. I only had about 5 songs that retained the odd file names, so I just needed to listen to them to find out what they were and rename them. Hope this helps!

Yikes! I def don’t know tricks- I know apple has gone thru great lengths to make sure we *can’t* do that, so you can’t take your friends’ music from their ipod, etc. It sucks in your situation though, where u did buy all that music! Hopefully someone is a hacker

I DO have a solution for taking your songs off of your iPod, but it’s a little troublesome. Also, I only know how to do this for a PC. I haven’t the slightest idea how to work a Mac. If you’re willing to give it a shot, try this:
1. Plug your iPod into the computer, then when it prompts you to “Erase and Sync”, just don’t press either option it gives you.
2. Instead, go to My Computer and double click to open your connected iPod.
3. Make your invisible files visible. In Windows XP, go to the Tools menu > click Folder Options > click the View tab > choose “Show hidden files and folders”. In Windows Vista, go to the Organize menu > click Folder and Search Options > click the View tab > choose “Show hidden files and folders”.
4. In your opened iPod folder, a folder called “iPod control” or something similar should now be visible. Open iPod control, then open the folder Music.
5. All of the songs on your iPod should be in these folders (there’s 10-20 songs in each folder). HOWEVER, they will be under gibberish file names. Copy all of your songs into your computer’s hard drive, then rename the files however you’d like. (Even though the file names will be gibberish, like SFKV.mp3 for example, that should be the only thing that has changed. When you play the song in iTunes, the name/artist/album/genre/etc. should still show up just fine. Usually, at least.)
I hope this helps!

I had the same problem when I got a new labtop. I used a program called ipod rip (http://ipodrip.com/). It was free to download, and it takes the songs straight from your ipod and uploads them to the computer. hope this helps!

ohh that sucks. I know NOTHING about the whole I-tunes thing. My hubby is the master but he still doesnt know what to do either. Have you done a google search for your question or looked on ipod site?
And to answer your question on my Rosa Marina Salad..it is on the same lines as ambrosia salad however, Ambrosia salad do not contain any pasta and it uses a lot of marshmallows. But it is still equally as good!

I was just gonna link you to the instructions on the Apple page, but looks like Jen did the honors!
I hope you get it fixed soon! It sucks to have to re-download all the songs in itunes again!

Allison – the software works great – I think I bought “iPod Access” for $9.95 – or maybe it was free for so many songs – not sure – but it worked great – and the instructions are easy to follow. Just google and download. I think someone above suggest iPod rip – which works the same way I’m sure. I have a mac, and I’m pretty sure the software is the only easy way to do it. Incidentally – they make a version for any pictures you might have synced to your phone that a resync will erase. Best of luck!

Yah, I really hope that pic of Madonna is photoshopped cuz I really can’t even conceive of arms that look like that. They don’t even pass for human, kwim?
Girlfriend. It is a sad sad sad day when I hear of anyone on earth that doesn’t dig bacon (vegetarians aside). I will GLADLY take your share plus infinity bacon.
I think jewelry parties are fun. Of course, I’ve never been to one. So what do I know…

boo for computer viruses. i lost all my music 5 months ago from that same kind of thing (my iPod was only holding about 2% of my music at the time of the computer crash). i also lost all my photos. technology is a beast when it doesnt work. im sure some computer geek out there knows how to rescue it…at least you have all the files on your iPod for now, right?

You should be able to log into your account and verify the computer as one of your registered computers. You can have up to 5 I believe.
Good luck!
