Christmas in July!

When I think of Christmas in July – I usually think of some crazy party/beer festival/celebration type thing. That’s not the kind of Christmas in July I’m talkin’ about though.

I’m talking about the absurdness that was my day yesterday.

Christmas Present #1: WE BOOKED OUR VACATION! Over Thanksgiving, Mike and I are going to the Dreams Riviera Cancun Resort in Mexico (between Cancun and Riviera Maya)! It opens in October, and we are going in November – so it will be BRAND SPANKIN’ NEW! Thanks for all your advice – I looked at all the places you guys mentioned – and took a list to our travel agent and asked her to find us the best deal based on all these fabulous recommendations from my friends!

This will be the first time Mike and I have actually taken a full blown vacation together. We’ve never flown together, and our honeymoon was just a quick trip (6 hour card ride) – so we are so excited!!!!!!!!

Christmas Present #2: (I know you guys are tired of hearing how awesome my job is – Deal with it - ) Yesterday was another prime example! We had another warehouse type sale, and I paid $10 – to go into one of the store rooms and fill up a box with things I wanted. Check out my loot:

I got a ton of HUGE COFFEE MUGS (way in the background), note cards, candles, candle holder, placemat, and my favorite (the last pic) a jewelry box (fit for a 12 year old, I’m cook like that)!

Christmas Present #3: Here’s where things just get INSANE! Seriously – ABSOLUTELY INSANE! The fabulous people over at Newman’s Own Organics offered to send me some of their new organic products to test out. And I’m not sure if you guys know this about me – but I’m ALWAYS up for trying new food.

You can imagine my surprise when I came home and saw a box THIS SIZE!!!! (top box is Present #4)

I think it took Mike every ounce of control he had to not tear it open during the day while I was at work!

Once I got the box open – Mike and I seriously couldn’t believe what we saw. Seriously. We were like kids in a candy store (or kids on Christmas morning). Look for yourself!:

4 different bags of pretzels, 5 bags of dried fruit, 8 chocolate cups packages, olive oil & vinegar, 2 packages of Fig Newmans (LOVE THAT NAME!):

2 pages of Soy Crisps, 3 bags of cookies, 2 peppermint cups packages, 4 packages of mints, 4 tins of mints, and a box of chocolate bars!

Thank you so much Newman’s Own Organics!!!!!! I GREATLY APPRECIATE IT! This is hands-down the most awesome care package I’ve ever received!!

Perfection! I could have easily eaten the whole bag in one sitting – but I figured I should take it easy since we were about to eat dinner!

Christmas Present #4: The Coconut Flour I won from Mara! I can not WAIT to bake up some crazy stuff with this flour! THANKS MARA!!

I mean, can you believe, all this, in one day????

At this point, who even cares what I ate yesterday?!

PB&J breakfast, salad for lunch, Chili’s 3 for $20 for dinner. The verdict on the Chili’s deal? Mike and I like the Applebee’s 2 for $20 better. We don’t like dessert really – so the fact that dessert came with the Chili’s deal was sort of wasted on us. Although – we did get a LOT of food. I only had about 10 of the fries from the appetizer, and 2 of the taco in my meal and I was stuffed!
