Let’s get gross!

What a title, right? But looking through the pictures I had uploaded – I was continually grossed out – one after the other.  So why hide it?  I figure I may as well sell the gross factor from the get go.

Geez – seriously – do I know how to lose a reader or what?!

If you don’t want to read that’s fine – I’ll see you for a much better post tomorrow, no hard feelings!

Otherwise, let’s get dirty!

Spicy Oats – okay, so you are thinking – “hmm – how can that be gross?”  (or you are thinking “that’s the gross shiz Allison eats every day”) – either way – I stepped it up a notch…

…and unknowingly snapped a picture of my breakfast – WITH A PIECE OF HAIR IN IT.  BARF! Obviously it was my hair – BUT STILL – wicked gross none the less.

In “more exciting than salad” lunch news…

We went out to Luchita’s (well known local Mexican chain) for one of my co-workers birthday.  Just thinking about Mexican restaurants tends to make my stomach flip. I’m always happy while I’m eating, and I always feel terrible afterward.  Mexican food and I do NOT like each other!  :(

Despite telling myself I wasn’t going to eat any chips – this ended up being my personal serving:

Gross!

My meal was a vegetarian burrito:

which was really good – but I only ate half, and brought the rest home!

After scoping out the weather forecast for the weekend – Mike and I decided our best bet for getting in a “good” 9 miles (our scheduled long run) this weekend – was to go Friday night, instead of Saturday morning. I figured the whole evening would be interesting since I’ve never really done a long run at night – so I made the best “pre-run” DINNER I could think of:

picture-0182

PB&J sammich, and pretzels with guac mixed with pinto beans (made with the last 1/4 piece of avocado left in the GDW household!)

The 9 miles actually went really well!! I wad definitely SLOWER than usual, but I felt strong considering we jumped 4 miles since last week’s long run (5 to 9 is a big jump!)  It’s also the longest distance I’ve run since the half marathon on May 17th, so I was pleased!  Not to mention – it was about 85 degrees, and I was running at night compared to first thing in the morning!

Next gross picture:

Me -post run.  Let’s go over the multiple reasons:

  • My arms are up in a “flex your muscles” position – yet – I’m not flexing.  Was I  too tired to flex?  Who knows!  Instead – I’m bringing the pasty white flab, hard core for ya’ll!
  • Crazy eyes much? I actually had my glasses on since I’ve been having contact issues lately, but didn’t want to have them on in the pic.  Instead – I look like a crazy possessed lady, staring off at someone in the distance.  I’m seriously that blind, that without my glasses I didn’t know where the camera was!
  • Product shot – I wanted to show you the VitaCoco I was INTENDING on slamming after the run – but, apparently I’m lacking in skills in that category, so…. sleep easy Price Is Right girls and Vanna White….

Which brings me to the next gross picture – our trash can:

picture-022

Why would I want to show you our trash (so you can see that we drink coffee and use Irish Spring soap in the shower)??

Well, that would be to show you were the VitaCoco rightfully belongs.  I took one swig of this thing and there WERE FREAKING CHUNKS!  I just gagged typing that.  It was seriously the most disgusting thing ever.  A very wise young lady (and personal friend of mine) told me Zico brand (which I do ADORE!) was the only way to – but I thought VitaCoco was worth a try since it was a little cheaper.  If only I would have listened…

Last, but not least – a cuter picture to make up for me grossing you guys out – Lando after our walk (which Mike and I used as our cool down from the run):

picture-0251

Doesn’t that look so uncomfortable? Silly dog!

Alright, sorry for grossing you out, but I had to share!  I’ve got a super fun “date night” planned with some of my girlfriends from my high school – so I’m off to get ready!  Hope you are having a great weekend!!

I LOVE doing my long run on a Friday night. Makes sleeping in and lolling around Saturday morning (and having a great brunch!) feel so good!

love this gross post! I had a vita coco tangerine that was good. I can’t do plain in any brand :(

Haha – Lando is so cute! With his legs sprawled out like that.
And that’s the worst; finding a hair in your food. Even if it is your own it’s still gross.

It actually takes a lot more than that to gross me out!! Ha! Great job on your 9 miler!!

Ahaha, love the post. Great job on the 9-miler, that’s a huge jump! And that IS gross there were chunks in that coco water! Ick!

Loved this post – congrats on a Friday night run!!

hahhaha- we call that position Lando is in “full frog” – I love when Frank lays like that. Great job on the run! In these hot summer months, I much prefer to run either way early am or late night!

This post is awesome. I love the self deprecation, the hairy food and brutal honesty (although I think the negative self talk is completely false…you are a sweaty sexy lady!!!).
It takes a lot more than this to gross me out though. ;)
