I walked into my office Monday morning to find:

Seriously? Now that’s my idea of a perfect Monday! Now all other Monday’s will certainly pale in comparison!
I excitedly tore into this mystery gift (my birthday is in March, and I celebrate Catholic holidays – so there was no reason I could think of the be receiving a gift on Monday, July 13th!!!), to find:

FABULOUS FLIP FLOPS – in 100% Green Dog Wine approved colors!!
These were a gift from one of my sales reps – a “thank you for working so hard” gift. Hmm, I can’t remember - but have I mentioned to you guys that I love my job?
THANKS CHRISTINE!
After I settled down from the gifting excitement (I’m about as excitable as a 2 year old in a candy store!) – I ate this delightful mess!

So good, so good, so good!
Lunch was a lackluster salad (just iceberg is BO-RING!):

Not to mention I forgot dressing – BLEH! A Costco trip is definitely needed!
To make up for my lunch boring-ness (or perhaps I lost my mind) – I decided to try this for my snack (which Mike so graciously purchased for me at the West Side Market!):

A chocolate covered jalapeno! WOWZA!!!

Holy Mary, Mother of God! (Got my prayers in for the day!)

Gahh! This thing was SOOOOOO hot – I could only take 2 bites! Which really was a shame because it was such a crisp/fresh jalapeno. I really haven’t had a pepper that hot in YEARS! (No worries, I picked off the chocolate before I threw it out!) To tame the FIRE that was going on in my mouth – I chowed down on everything I could find:

Yummy treats – but still HOT HOT HOT mouth!
When I got home, there were MORE packages waiting for me….but you’ll have to wait to see those (I want to be able to do a true product review when I post them!)
Two packages in one day, make me a very happy girl!
For dinner – I made spaghetti with my newest obsession: shirataki noodles!

You really have to try these, AT LEAST ONCE! Yes – the “authentic smell” (the bag actually says “authentic smell”!!!) when you open the bag is alarming – but once you cook them, I promise they taste like real noodles!
I pan-friend some okra while I was microwaving the noodles, added some sauce – mixed it all up on the stovetop – and voila!

This really was fantastic! I’ve never had okra with pasta before, but I must admit – this was a great combo! I’ll definitely be doing that again! Not to mention – it was SO FREAKIN’ EASY! Honestly – ready in 5 minutes!
Mike and I ran a bunch of errands last night – and when we drove by my favorite ice cream store – I just had to stop! I’m not a big “sweets” fan, but I am a sucker for anything mint/chocolate – and Mitchell’s has the BEST MINT BROWNIE FROZEN YOGURT!!!!!!!!

YUM YUM YUM! I’m pretty sure any “healthy advantage” I might get from this being froyo as opposed to ice cream – is completely negated by the fact that there are huge brownie chunks in the mix. Just a thought.

No way!! I’ve never seen a chocolate covered jalapeno before. I love both but yeah, the jalapeno might be a little too hot for my liking.

I want a chocolate covered jalapeno. Well, I think I want one.
I had shirataki noodles for lunch today too. I ate them with guacamole which sounds and looks disgusting, but was good.

Cute flip flops! What a fun surprise
Oh my gosh, I’ve never heard of chocolate covered jalapenos! I don’t think I could stand it! I also would have picked off the chocolate, though. Good call
I like shirataki noodles too. They’re such a quick, fast meal. And the smell totally goes away after you rinse them for about 5 seconds. Love that yummy dessert, too!

what a fun present! i think surprise gifts for random reasons are just the best. i try to send my sisters care packages while they are away at school just for that reason. even if it’s a pack of gum or something little, it’s still always exciting!!

Hooray for flip flops!
That chocolate covered jalapeno looks intense. I’ll have to look for shirataki noodles even though the authentic smell thing has me a bit freaked out. Curious, but concerned.
