Food Kryptonite

What is your food kryptonite?

I don’t know about you, but if you put me in front of a hunk of cheese, size doesn’t matter (TWSS!), I will finish it unless someone physically removes me from it.  :???:

Once several adult beverages pass my  lips – Taco Bell can get added to the list. It always sounds like a fabulous idea at the time, but I always wake up feeling gross and sick!  (doesn’t that apply to so many things when drinking??)

After having spent Friday night out on the town…I may or may not have eaten something (or should I say “somethings” – plural) resembling this:

bean-burrito-771167

Who can say really?

Needless to say – I wasn’t very hungry when I woke up Saturday, so we just chilled out, took things easy and had an early lunch.  After eating Taco Bell at 2am – I didn’t feel like fast food, but Mike was begging for Wendy’s (and we had nothing in the house).  I ended up ordering their new Boneless Buffalo wings, and bringing them home to make my own wrap:

Now THAT is “good food fast”! (Isn’t that their slogan?)

For a mid-afternoon snack (because, you know, laying around on the couch with your husband and dog all day watching TV really works up an appetite) – I broke into these sweet treats:

picture-0443

Turtle Mountain  Coconut Milk Vanilla Ice Cream Sandwiches! These were really tasty, and totally hit the spot!!!

After cleaning up around the house and taking Landy Brain on a quick stroll – I came home and made a nice “clean” dinner – I was craving something healthy after two fast food stops in two days!

picture-0034

I made baked tofu, and zucchini pasta!  Both absolutely hit the spot!!!  The one thing I did notice though – different brands of tofu cook differently, which I find interesting:grin:

Here’s a close up of the delicious zucchini pasta action:

YUM!!!!!

Okay kiddos – I’m off to play with this Monster Face, who keeps eating all my socks, underwear and bras!!!! GRRR!

(So to “discipline” her, I buy her a new toy…trust me people – you wouldn’t want me raising children!)

So tell me my lovelies - what is your food kryptonite?  Does the list change under certain circumstances?   Do share!

Chips and salsa!!! It doesn’t matter if I’m completely sober or there have been many drinks involved, if you put chips and salsa in front of me, there is no stopping me.

Dark Chocolate! Yum! Or Italian Food. How are the new Wendy’s Wings? I haven’t had Wendy’s in years! They’ve come out with so many new things, I can’t keep track!

Those ice cream bars looks yummy!

[Reply]

I think mine is Mexican food. I can eat endless amounts of sour cream, guac, salsa, chips, beans & rice…Like, it’s actually a problem :)

[Reply]

Guacamole for me :)

Aww, Lando!

[Reply]

oh. lando. you fierce beast! ice cream, ice cream, ice cream. i could honestly, LITERALLY eat a gallon if in front of me. also cheese like you said. and chips and salsa. addicted!

[Reply]

my recent food kryptonite was the bag of TJ’s peanut butter filled pretzels james brought home! definitely gone in less than 3 days. it’s too easy to pick up 2-3 here…4 there…munch while reading..etc etc etc…until there’s an empty bag! other kryptonites: cereal, crackers..do we see a carby trend perhaps?!

[Reply]

Hummus and fluffy warm pita bread. OMG.

[Reply]

2 am Taco Bell stop?? haha, I’ve been there before! When Nick and I first started dating we ate Taco bell more often than I’d like to admit…
I have not had Wendy’s boneless wings yet, but I hear they are really good! Great idea adding them to a wrap.
My food Kryptonite would be peanut butter, and cheese (yes, both fatty and delicious!)

[Reply]

Late night taco bell runs are also my late night kryptonite. Who can resist the crunch wrap supreme after a few drinks???

[Reply]

You can’t be mad at that precious face for too long!

My kryptonite: hummus, hands down. Cheese is a close 2nd though. However I tell myself that I have to, “soak up that alcohol” :D

[Reply]

Lots of stuff, but cereal is my ultimate Kryptonite. Something eating out of the box makes it impossible to stop.

[Reply]

Dry cereal out of the box, and pretzels. Do not let me in front of either one without close supervision.

[Reply]

Raw cashews seem harmless enough, but they are seriously my crack. After an adult bev or two, chips and salsa or fries are too good :P

Ooh, and coconut milk ice cream…

The pup is too cute!

[Reply]

Hm…probably corn chips. So bad!

[Reply]

Cute pup!
My food kryptonite has to be cheese as well. I can polish off a block of cheddar before I notice how much I’ve gone through. I actually have a scar on one of my fingers from using a knife to cut cheese for a snack. So embarrassing. :(

[Reply]

I still have not tried any of those Turtle Mountain products- I need to pick some up. They sound delicious. That toy lando has looks awesome! Frank can shred rope toys in 0.2 seconds…but he may have trouble with that one!

[Reply]

My food kryptonite is defintely chocolate anything! Love the doggie pictures!

[Reply]

Cheeeeese! I love it, especially in queso dip form! I went to town on a huge bowl on Friday night and my tummy’s still recovering!

Except for a certain few days every month when I inhale chocolate like crazy, I’m a total cheese girl!

[Reply]

Dark chocolate is my kyrptonite! Once I get a taste I just want more!

Have you ever seen the HBO series Six Feet Under? It’s excellent if you’re looking for something new to watch.

[Reply]

Dessert. Period! I love anything sweet, especially if it involves chocolate! Funny how drinking totally changes your eating habits!! I think about that all the time.. haha.

[Reply]

frosting. no cake necessary. desserts in general, with the exception of anything custard or pudding like- hate that texture.

sometimes it is necessary for behavior replacement instead of punishing… hope the toy lasts long!

[Reply]

haha, I like that, food kryptonite…Mine would be runny eggs…or cheese…or a hot bowl of oats…froyo!
By the way, NOTHING wrong with taco bells…I eat it from time to time, too! Can’t beat the price and the late hours!

[Reply]

Cheese in any form imaginable… I LOVE cheese.

[Reply]

My mom’s Double Chocolate Brownies! They’re gooey and full of cocoa and chocolate chunks…dear lord. Pizza used to be a big one. But, I seem to have conquered it. Birthday cake will get me though. Fetuccine Alfredo was one too…

BTW I love your blog!

[Reply]

I have to measure out certain things, otherwise I would be unstoppable–fresh grainy bread and butter, cereal/granola, PB etc. Pizza can do that too me, as well…once in awhile, it’s not the worst thing to happen!

[Reply]

what a cutie! i need to try those coconut ice cream sandwiches.

food kryptonite? hm…good chocolate :)

[Reply]

Greasy, salty tortilla chips and salsa at a mexican restaurant. MMMM get that chip basket away from me!
I don’t remember the last time I ate Taco Bell sober! :> Definetely only tastes good to me when I’ve had a few cocktails…haven’t done that in a few years though.
Love the pup and the new toy!!!

Snap! Cheese is 100% mine as well. And your comment made me laugh about a “hunk” of cheese because I am identical. If a whole block was in front of me I would have absoltely NO trouble scoffing the whole thing. I love cheese with all my heart.
I can also take care of a massive bag of chips and salsa though… just sayin.

[Reply]

Chips and salsa, definitely! Well, chips and anything, really. And cheese too! I haven’t made a “run for the border” for a while….but that used to totally be my late night kryptonite as well :)

[Reply]

I haven’t eaten Taco Bell in years but I used to eat their bean burritos for lunch a lot. We had a T.B. stand at my high school.

My main kryptonite food is M&Ms

[Reply]

Haha, Lando is so cute with that huge chew toy. I have tons of food kryptonite – ice cream, chocolate, chips, bagels with cream cheese, nachos, pizza – the list goes on and on :)

[Reply]

lol drunk taco bell runs are definitely a freshman year memory! Mine is ice cream fo sho. And thanks for the zucchini shredder recommendation! I’ll definitely look for one this week/weekend!!

[Reply]

actually buying Lando new toys is good, because you are suppose to take away your… um..’unmentionables’ and replace them immediately with an “appropriate toy” in order to teach the pup what’s her’s and whats not! either way shes too cute!
My food has got to be Honey Bunch of Oats Cereal! Addiction? Yes!

[Reply]

[...] but when it comes to gummy related candy – well – it’s another example of my food kryptonite! I think I’ve had at LEAST 2 Laffy Taffy a day, every day this [...]

I would totally not stop eating lasagna if it was put in front of me… I am such a pasta loving girl!!
