Make new friends, but keep the old…

…one is silver and the others gold!    Girl Scouts anyone?

I know everyone is different – but when it comes to keeping in touch with people from my old places of employment – I’ve always done a great job with that (if I do say so myself!).  I’ve found – when you spend the majority of your day with these people – you have a common bond, and become close if you are willing to make friendships.   I’m still close with people from almost every single place I’ve ever worked (maybe with the exception of the jobs I had when I was 16!), and I really like that I still have those friendships.

How about you – Do you remain close with people you used to work with, or do you cut all ties once you leave that job?

Monday started off on the best foot possible – the Spicy Oats foot! (wah-huh??)

Lunch was  a hodge podge:

Veggie filled Flatout wrap and ginormous grapes from the Westside market:

Salt & Pepper Popchips – love the “pepper-y” kick – but Salt & Vinegar and Sour Cream & Onion are still dukin’ it out for first place in my opinion!

Apple at 4 to tide me over until dinner:

My dinner date plans included more wine (I apparently can’t get enough this week)…  I knew some of the fabulous ladies I used to work with would be in town this week – so we planned a “get together”  at D’Vine Wine Bar in downtown Cleveland.  You may remember me talking about D’Vine here!

After hugs and hellos – we all started off with some adult beverages – I opted for a glass of Rosé:

After chatting and catching up for a while, we finally decided to order several small plates for the group to split.  I was ALL for the “Trio of Dips” which we got last time and loved.  I’m not sure what they put in the “Roasted Cauliflower” dip – but I’m pretty sure it’s as addictive as crack!

A mushroom pizza:

and an order of calamari (served with NO “SPIDERS” – which always makes my day – the “spiders” FREAK ME OUT!!!!)

The food was just as delicious as last time, and the company was fantastic!

Thanks for meeting up with my ladies – I had an absolute blast and miss you guys a ton! We definitely need to do this again next time you are in town!!

I remember that song. I was a brownie, but (nerd alert) dropped out to be in the computer club.

As far as the work friend thing, I’ve kept in touch via facebook with a lot of people, but I can only think of one friend whom I’ve stayed very close to and we stopped working together like 4 years ago.

“….a circle’s round, but never ends, that is why you should keep good friends.”

Is that right?? Wow, that just brought me back to my days of summer camp as a kid :)

I’ve always tried to keep in touch with old work friends!

The colour of that rosé is fantastic. :) I’m not much of a rosé drinker myself, but I can appreciate the aesthetics. ;)

I’m a trio of dips addict nearly anywhere I eat out. Hehehe.

I was a Girl Scout for 13 years! I still occasionally break out into song from time to time :) . My new favorite restaurant type is tapas!

whenever i work on a film long term i become SUPER close with everyone; it’s like camp…but afterwards i usually keep in touch with maybe one or two folks…

I have to say, I’m pretty bad at keeping in touch with my last job’s coworkers – I even sang in one of their wedding’s! But, I’ve been at my current company for four years, and have kept in touch with a lot of people who’ve since left the firm. Good for you for keeping those bonds going strong! Oh, and my hubby’s from work, so it’s not for nothing!

[Reply]

i agree … salt and vinegar are my faves. tho i think salt and pepper is my second fave.
pizza looks yummy!

LMAO at calamari spiders! I TOTALLY get you girl. I hate them too. They ruin the plate for me, lol.

How was the rose? Looks devine.

I’m a tie-cutter when I leave jobs.

Hey Girl!!!
It was so awesome to see you and get to hang out….we really should plan this for once a month :)
You look great, hope that foot heals up!!!
