Traveling Vineyards

Can I just say, you guys have been cracking me up with your comments! Keep ‘em coming – I love it! :)

This week has seriously been a whirlwind, and it’s not getting any better – we leave tonight for vacation!

Let’s get ya caught up!

Tuesday I went to a wine tasting party, which is way more exciting than my breakfast and lunch – so here’s some thumbnails for ya:

Now on to the good stuff!  The party was hosted by Jane – who I actually know 2 ways!  My mom used to work with her, and my cousin Caroline is friends her son!  Crazy!  :)

Here’s the Hostess with the Mostest (workin’ it for that camera) – and all of the wonderful food she had prepared for us:

I don’t even like cake, but I thought this dessert looked TDF!

My plate had some shrimp, spinach dip, cheese, hummus, pita – and the MOST amazing Pesto Pasta ever!  It was made with fresh from the garden basil and slivered almonds!  SOO good!

I made friends with this little sweet pea, Chloe!

Such a cute little pug – she was snorting and huffin’ the whole night!  She kept cracking me up!

A TON of people showed up for the tasting – including 4 of my family members!  Cousin Caroline, my Aunt Laura, my Momma, and my Grandma!

With Traveling Vineyards (you may have seen Tina talk about her experience with them here) – the hostess picks the 5 wines they want the group to try – and that’s it!  They take care of the rest!  They bring the wine glasses and everything else!  I don’t have any pictures of the actually wine, just because there were SO many people there.  I can tell you the ones I liked thought!

My favorite of the 5 we tried – were served first, and last!  This Pinot Blanc:

And surprisingly – a Cab!  This one was labeled their “mystery” wine – and I really was shocked when I found out it was Cabernet.  My experience in the past with cabs has been bad, and I typically do NOT like the way they taste.   I absolutely LOVED this one!

I’m thinking of having a party of my own – it seems so easy!   Thanks for a great night Jane!
