Does anyone else out there watch TrueBlood?? You may have caught on to this by now – but since Mike and I don’t have cable – we are always looking into finding new television shows that we can watch through Netflix. We’ve had some real hits in the past (Weeds, Dexter, Rescue Me, Breaking Bad, and more) – and TrueBlood is what’s currently up. Mike wasn’t having any of it – but I finished disc one (which was only two episodes) – and I like it so far! Does the show stay interesting? Thoughts? Anyone else have a good series they would recommend?
We were outta eggs in the GDW household yesterday morning – so instead of Spicy Oats - I went to Chocolate PB Oats – always a good stand in.

I added 2 TBSP of Naturally More, and crumbled up one of my Choco-Coco-PB-no-bake-cookies from the other night:

So yummy, but definitely not as filling as the Spicy Oats!
Lunch was an “accident” – and by accident – I mean – I ran to TJ’s to pick up some items for dinner, and stumbled onto these suckers…

…and proceeded to eat 2 full servings on my way back to the office. Yeah. Sour Cream & Onion Corn Puffs? That was lunch.
For those of you that eat Pirate’s Booty – is this just like it – just TJ’s brand? I’ve never had Pirate’s Booty – but I’m assuming this the same thing, with a different (albeit very very similar) name.
My fried Mel brought in her little guy (I just adore him!), so he could hang out – he made sure to touch every single thing on my desk.

Slamming some keys:

The key slamming led to all sorts of “error” and “help” message boxes being open (he was crackin’ me up!):

I’m not even kidding you – look how happy this kid is? I swear he looks like this 24 hours a day!

I mean really – How adorable is that face?!
Mike and I don’t want kids – but if I knew ahead of time my child would turn out like this happy handsome devil, I’d change my mind in an instant!
Having eaten a rather nutritionally lacking lunch – I was pretty hungry for some serious snacks come 3pm:

Carrots, pretzels & hummus – along with some DELICIOUS Mariani dried apricots:

I’m just realizing now that I like dried apricots (for years I thought I didn’t) – and these were the most beautiful, vibrant color orange – and they tasted amazing! They had a nice little zing to them! Thanks for the sample Mariani!
My friend Meghan came over for dinner – so it was my job to prep the food – her job to supply the wine! She brought over a bottle of Fat Bastard Pinot Noir:

And we had no trouble finishing it off! I am on a red wine loving kick this week! This was my first time trying this brand (and I think 2nd time ever trying Pinot Noir) and it was fabulous! I plan on stopping by the store and picking up a few more bottles!
I offered Meghan a selection of food – her final choice for dinner – PIZZA made with TJ’s whole wheat pizza:

I loved having a friend over who LOVES veggies -were were able to pile TONS onto this sucker:

We had all sorts of peppers, and olives, with just a sprinkle of cheese (toppings UNDER the cheese is the way to go!)

So delicious! You just can’t beat that TJ’s dough! grin:
It’s been a while, so I’ll leave you with these friends below – Happy Friday!

Hannah loves Pirates Booty, but didn’t care for that TJ’s stuff. Odd. I think it tastes a lot similar.
What a little cutie pie that you had visit you today.
What is your favorite red wine? I love pinot noir or cab!

Ha! That’s funny–we watch our “tv” the same way! No cable, just netflix. We’ve been through all the seasons of the original CSI and we loved watching Arrested Development. I’m excited for October which is when all the Ally McBeal seasons arrive on DVD–did you ever watch that show? I’ve never seen True Blood, but I’m currently reading the Sookie Stackhouse novels. As soon as I finish, True Blood is going on the cue

True Blood is AWESOME!!! It gets better and better every episode. The first season might seem “weird” at first, but once the story stars to unfold you WILL BE HOOKED. I never watched the show when it started, but one night I started watching it with my mom and I was hooked ever since. Watch it!

I just finished all of Season 1 of True Blood a few days ago. Keep watching; it’s very interesting. I got a little obsessed and am sad that I won’t be able to see Season 2 for a while since we don’t have HBO.
Have you seen Six Feet Under? That’s my all-time favorite tv show. If not, I’d definitely recommend Netflixing it.

I watched the first episode of True Blood but wasn’t really feeling it. However, I second Mad Men & How I Met Your Mother (if you don’t already watch that).
HAH at that wine – love the name! Your pet pics: #1 really is true!

Livy says TJ Puffs are better than Pirate’s Booty. I only buy the TJ Puffs so I can have the last serving at the bottom of the bag that is saturated with “cheese.” If I put “cheese” in quotes that means it’s vegan, right?

I just finished Season 1 of True Blood on DVD and really enjoyed the show. I don’t really have any new shows to recommend – you’ve listed out all the ones I watch.
The pizza looks good! Reading about all the great finds at Trader Joes makes me wish I lived near one.

I LOVE olives on pizza!!
That little boy is so adorable. I was watching tv today and there was a segmant about how little kids love to laugh, and they laugh up to 400 times a day. They showed a bunch of little kids/babies laughing, and it was just so fun to watch.
I am on a red wine kick this week too! Probably because I bought some with at TJs the last time I was there. 2 buck chuck, gotta love it!

where do i start?!?! LOVE True Blood and I never saw the first season- I started early on in this current season and just immediately started liking it and am enjoying this season thus far. all systems a go on that. It is so strange but so interesting how they incorporate “real vampire legends” into it..
TJ Corn Puffs vs. Pirate’s Booty: very very similar .. however I find that pirate’s booty is softer and easier to eat… the TJ corn puffs sometimes have crunchier, unexpected bits and do have a slightly different taste . Overall, I buy both or whatever is cheaper because its not that much of a difference if I’m craving that type of puff.
That child is ADORABLE! oh that face is so cute and so happy! I am still on the fence about kids myself, after teaching for years – I loved kids but having my own didn’t seem that appealing. Jeff must have kids but I am totally in “study/career/grown-up house” mode and want all that going right now. People just think the next step after marriage is kids and they don’t ever mention what a huge deal it is- I mean huge responsibility- that maybe not everyone should/can take on!!

Chocolate PB oats are fantastic. In fact, I enjoyed some this morning (pb with choc chips).
No better way to begin the morning!
Your friend’s son is such a cutie. It’s great that he’s so happy all the time! If only all children turned out that way, haha.

Yeah i thought scott and i were like the only “no kid” couple! my guilty pleasure show is Felicity with Keri Russel from a few years ago. only a few seasons (4?) good one for you now that Mike is back in school, for sure a chick show
its not on TV anymore so you’ll have to rent it.

I think it may have been cancelled, but Nip Tuck is ridiculous, if you haven’t seen it
I watched the entire Season One on DVD back to back and was hooked from that point forward! I believe there are 3 or 4 seasons available thru Netflix…that show is completely scandalous, but it will suck you in!!
