BOO!
Happy Halloween!
Glad to hear you are all doing fun things this weekend! I really wanted to go to our friends party – but my insanity type-A-easily-stressed personality just isn’t allowing it with my upcoming departure to San Fran. Maybe some day I’ll chill out…
5 days straight – PB & Pumpkin Butter Oats:

Friday morning – one of my co-workers told me to QUICKLY get up from my desk and head down the hall. For a minute – I was worried – but then I saw these little lovelies:

Seriously – how adorable are they???

I saw these guys last year (click here for their 2008 costumes!), and I think it’s hysterical they change there outfits every year! Who knew dogs could be so high maintenance with their costumes on Halloween!

I’d been putting off going to the grocery store all week, so Friday it was either pack a can of spaghettios for lunch, or pick something up. With there being a Rockne’s about 7 minutes from my work…what choice do you think I picked?

I’m seriously addicted. I’ve never liked a Buffalo Chicken salad this much! I used the House Italian dressing for the flat bread, and then just eat the salad “plain” because the amount of buffalo sauce they use is perfect for a dressing!!
The only problem with this salad – I ALWAYS feel like I need to eat every bite, but I’m always full about half way through.
I definitely ate the entire thing – and subsequently wasn’t hungry until 8pm!!!
Because I was so full – it gave me time to run to the store after work before I was worried about dinner. While I was at Marc’s (a Cleveland “discount grocery store”) – I stumbled upon these in the freezer section:

ORGANIC SUNSHINE BURGERS!
I was SO excited! They had 3 flavors, but this Barbecue looked too good to pass up – so I bought it and rushed home to make it for dinner!
Now this may look like a plain dinner:

But HOLY.FLIPPIN.COW. This was the best “non-meat” burger I’ve EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!
I love Boca, and feel so-so about Morning Star – but this Sunshine Burger wasn’t even in the same ballpark!!!! It tasted amazing! Every single thing about them were just awesome – so to keep it short and sweet – if you see these – BUY THESE!!!
As for me – I think I’m off to take a nap with this little goblin:

Have a great night! Be safe!!!
Maybe it’s the upcoming holiday, or maybe it’s just me – but doesn’t my peanut butter look a little bit like a ghost??

(can you see the dog toy in the bottom left corner of the pic? Lando was sitting right by it – whining like crazy for PB
)
My lunch was almost the entire color spectrum – ROYGBIV Baby!

Ken’s Caesar (mwah mwah Ken!), Mojo PB&J bar, and salad!

As for a snack – well – apparently I was either too busy for one, or I forgot to take a picture! I have no recollection of it either way!
My Mom and I had fun evening plans – we’d been invited to a “Ladies Boutique Night” at Kristin’s parent’s Country Club. Swanky, right?
Really it was just a whole bunch of vendors coming to one central place to make for a prime shopping environment!
I drove over to my Mom’s so we could ride together – and managed to raid her cupboards for the 5 minutes I was there – I grabbed these:

MUY MUY delicioso! They would be very dangerous if I ever brought a bag home to our house!
When we walked in door – everything was already hoppin’! There were vendors with cool stuff EVERYWHERE!

Kristin was a fabulous host and basically greeted us at the door with a glass of wine! Gee – twist my arm!

I thought the martini centerpieces were super cute – just had to share!
There were tons and TONS of cute jewelry and purses and sunglasses!! I could have very easily done some serious damage to my bank account, but I tried to show restraint!! My Mom bought me a necklace for Christmas (that I plan on begging her for this weekend so I can wear it in San Fran!)

You better believe this foodie made a stop at the only food table they had! (I was so sad there was only one!)

Isn’t that little cookie precious?! It tasted just as good as it looks!!! (please ignore my man hands
)
The company is called Sweet and Simple Cookies by Annemarie:

and all of their products looked fantastic! Check out their website if you have a chance – they have some truly adorable (and delicious) stuff!

The only purchase I actually made – was from this stand - Sophia’s Bead Bazaar:

This little girl (probably about 10) – basically made her own business, putting all this intricate bead work on spoons! And as if that is awesome enough (hello – I think this 10 year old was more business savvy than me!) - she donates part of her proceeds to the local APL! A smart little girl, who loves animals, who is selling a perfect “tool” for a foodie? How could I resist?
I was torn between these 3:

The final choice:

Isn’t that adorable? I can’t wait to use it in oatmeal!!!
I didn’t get home until after 10 – but by then I was starving since I never really ate dinner, so I whipped up (what is it with me and that word this week) a wrap with cannellini beans, and cheese:

Served with a pickle (with numbs removed –
)

Whose got fun plans for Halloween?
Mike and I officially have no fun plans because I’m in full on stress mode with getting ready for San Fran (so much to do before I go!!!), as well as getting things all tied up at work before I’m out for 2 days – and Mike has a TON of school work!
Not sure when we turned so boring!
Entertain me with your fun plans!
Aye Curramba!
Where has this week gone?!?! It’s Thursday (not to mention – ALMOST NOVEMBER) – life is flying by!!
I started my day of the sweetest way (yeah – I’m an aspiring poet…
):

I’ll tell ya someone else who is diggin’ these dessert oats for breakfast (yes – I refer to my dog as a “someone”):

I always let her lick the PB spoon clean. I mean – I think I’d look like a glutton licking every last morsel of PB off the spoon, and she definitely GOES TO TOWN making sure it’s clean (No – we do not keep her bowl in the middle of our kitchen floor – she’s licked it all the way over there!)
Lunch was eat with a side of work:

Iceberg, chickpea, pepper salad with Ken’s (LOVE!) Lite Caesar, and some home made SodaStream Diet Grapefruit Drink!
I made sure I was properly fueled throughout my busy afternoon with – Some Celestial Seasonings Peppermint Tea:

I finished the box!
This was the first flavor of theirs that I ever tried – and it was love at first sip. Such a nice, calming flavor. I HIGHLY recommend!
Some Spooky Smore’s:

and one of the last muffkies with some PB & chocolate chips!

For dinner (after I spent 20 minutes sitting outside Mike’s “Man Room” whining that we had nothing to eat…) – I finally went and stared at my cupboard, and did my best to channel my inner college student. College Allison came up with:

Did anyone else live off of Knorr Pasta Sides in college? My weekly grocery list** from 2000 to 2005, (yes – college took 5 years for me) literally consisted of the following:
- 10 packages of Knorr Pasta Sides
- 1 huge hunk of Kroger Swiss cheese
- 1 bag of Kroger tortilla chips
- 1 container of Kroger Picante sauce
That was it! That got me through the week! Oh yeah – and a few drunken TB runs thanks to my roomate still having her parent’s credit card. Man – was that the life!
I digress…
So I did my best to beef up the pasta by adding beans and tuna! The end result:

Not too shabby, but blander than hell! I added a ton of garlic salt, and crushed red pepper. Then it was “just right”!
Okay – gotta go, go, go! Happy Thursday!!! Anyone wearing a costume to work tomorrow?
** feel free to comment on the absolute absurdity of my grocery list
