My week totally started off RIGHT!!!
I got a great night sleep, I had healthy food ready for lunch, I was finally almost caught up on everything (after all the craziness last week) – and I was primed for an awesome breakfast – PB Jar Oats!!
My friend Kristin swears her spoons aren’t long enough to get to the bottom of this jar (??? – I think she’s crazy – but hey – I should keep my mouth shut – this “spoon belief” she holds is totally working in my favor!
) so when she offered me the end of her PB jar for oats – I took her up on it immediately – she didn’t need to ask twice!

To make the oats EVEN BETTER – I added 2 big dollops (I have a love/hate relationship with that word) of TJ’s pumpkin butter!

Words can’t even describe how awesome this was! Honestly – I think this may be tied for 1st place with spicy oats – AN YOU KNOW I don’t treat comparisons to spicy oats lightly!
Lunch was leftovers from Sunday’s Lentil Chili:

with some carrots I cut on a bias:

To make “carrot chips” to scoop up the chili with!!!! (you know how I love anything in chip form!)

At 3 – we had a special video conference with the New York office – so that we could remotely share in my friend Christine’s bridal shower. Since I knew they would have cake and treats – I brought my own treat to the meeting:

Have any of you tried the Spooky S’mores Clif Z-Bar?!?!?! I search HIGH AND LOW for it last year – and had no luck finding it! This year – I finally found it – and let me tell you…I think I may have shed a tear!
I was so sad I was cheated out of a year of eating these because I couldn’t find them in Cleveland! They are HANDS DOWN my favorite z-bar EVER!
After getting home and taking Lando on a walk, I decided tofu for dinner would totally hit the spot – but that meant one negative thing. It would be FOREVER until I ate – and I was hungry right then! So I got the tofu going in the oven, and made an “after-work appetizer” of some Jalapeno tortilla chips (BY FAR – my favorite Food Should Taste Good flavor – these ROCK!!!):

With a very tasty dip I just made on a whim. WARNING – while the dip was very tasty – it looks SUPER DUPER WICKED DISGUSTING!

Here’s what I did:
- I heated 1 large scoop of FF refried beans in the microwave for about 45 seconds
- Then added 2 scoops of salsa
- and a “whole lotta” (it’s a new metric unit) Frank’s Hot sauce
- Mix it up really well – and Voila!
Not pretty – but DEFINITELY tasty! Thank heavens for my snack – because my tofu wasn’t done until almost 8pm! When I eat dinner that late – it means gucky (yes, a word in my pretty little Allison World) pictures, with the flash on!

This was perfect! I had made Mike a pouch of Uncle Ben’s 90 second rice, and stolen about 1/4th of it – and then threw my tofu on top! The whole meal was super easy – it just took a while for the tofu to bake!
When I finally hit the couch to catch up on blogs & “other computer stuff” (read = facebook) – my cuddle buddy wanted to do things a bit differently. Normally, Lando will curl up at or around my feet (usually she’s chomping on a toy or something). I don’t know if she was cold, or tired, or what – but this is the sort of cuddling I got instead:

Great for her, not so comfy for me! She wedged herself right in the crux of my neck – almost pushing my nerdly glasses off when she sat down. Such a silly little beast – always makes me laugh!
(Also – please note: I’m never tan [ever!], but I swear – as soon as it hits 40 degrees outside – the cold sucks every last bit of color out of my skin and I become a ghost [honestly - borderline TRANSPARENT!] I’m sorry for not warning you to put on your sunglasses to view the above picture)
Hope you are having a great Tuesday! I’ve got a hair appointment tonight – and no real “plans” for what I’d like her to do! Let’s see where this goes….

I love the new Z-Bars. I heard they even reformatted the flavor since last year, though I didn’t even know who Clif was until later last year.

I missed out on the Spooky S’mores last year too. I am still searching for them. I’ve heard nothing but praises about them.

Awww, Lando is so cute!
It’s funny, but I’ve come to realize that most bloggers whose blogs I read eat dinner really early! I usually have dinner after 8. Pretty much everyday. It’s interesting to notice the cultural differences

I just ate one of those Smores bars. My fave too.
I love the refried beans/salsa combo. I never thought to put Frank’s in it though. Great idea.

Hi there! I have read your blog for quite some time, but have never commented! I just wanted to say how great I think it is that you went to the Columbus Marathon to cheer on others. It’s so disappointing to work so hard for something and not be able to do it. I was supposed to do my first half marathon on Sunday and we ended up with a Nor ‘easter in the Northeast! I was really disappointed!
I will be keeping my eye out for those Smores bars. I remember them fondly from lat year.
Also, as an aside, I am happy to write a guest post for you while you are away. I’ll shoot you an email.
I’ll be continuing to read….

Nothing is better than pb jar oats. Nothing.
I am also transparent. Only I’m as white as a ghost year round. I avoid the sun because I burn so bad
I wish I was a little tan, being so pale makes me insecure.

Digging the carrot scoop chips. Love that.
Hope the haircut turned out well. A great blowout is one of my most cherished experiences (and yes, I know a “That’s What She Said” reference is quickly going to follow that statement).

Hee hee, you know, my spoons don’t fit to the bottom of the jar either, but that doesn’t stop me! I jsut make the oats in the jar and scoop them out for maximum peanut butter power

I totally guarantee you are not whiter than me. We can compare notes in a few weeks, yes?
Love Lando! Rock is a loner in the summer but come fall and winter, it’s snug time on the couch with mom. LOL
I will totally do a guest post for you while you are away if you want.

My opinion on “dollop:”
You know that sour cream commercial for Daisy sour cream? And there’s this family running around all happy at some picnic or something. And there’s that song in the background: “Do a dollop! A dollop!”
I want to strangle everyone that was involved in the making of that commercial. I HATE the word dollop. *shudder*

SO WEIRD! I read your post at work today (oops should have been working!!) and then when I got home I found the exact z-bar on my kitchen counter. The hubs had picked one up for me at the grocery store. It was delicious. I am also obesssed with the mountain mix mojo bars and kind bars.

I’m completely in love with your puppy…too friggin’ adorable! My dog’s breath stinks too bad for me to cuddle like that with her, lol
Love the “whole lotta” measurement of Frank’s…let me ask you…do y’all buy the 2-for-1 Costco size bottles of Frank’s? We go through about 1 of those a month! Ha!

HA, i mean obviously your friend is not hardcore like us, I may or may not use a straw, not in it’s traditional usage, more like a scooper, to savor every last morsel of PB from the jar
Works like a charm!
