Yawpfest 2009 Recap – Part 1

FINALLY!

You got to see (and hear!) about all the crazy set up – now I’m finally getting around to showing you what actually happened at Yawpfest 2009! :)

On the big day – The Food Committee was up bright and early (4:45am!!) to get ready, and go pick up bagels and coffee for 300 people!

Coffee in one car:

Bagels in my car! (it’s 4 days later and my car STILL stinks of delicious garlic & onion bagels!!!)

10.13upload 001

The Food Committee – waiting for the rest of our bagels/coffee – all smiles, even though it’s super early!

10.13upload 004

Why all smiles?  It was FINALLY Yawpfest!  10.13upload 005

With all those FREE bagels being waved around in front of my face – it would have been a sin for me to not “taste test” one before feeding them to the entire company!

The only way to go when it comes to bagels:  “Everything” with Light Garden Veggie cream cheese!

As soon as we were done eating, we had to put the finishing touches on the breakfast tables:

We had: fruit, bagels, muffins,  and granola bars – just to make sure we appealed to everyone!

While I was keeping my eye on the food all day and running around, everyone seemed to be having a BLAST!!!!

Nerd Feud was going off without a hitch – and was a huge hit!

Some Nerd Feud spectators showing some Buckeye spirit – YA GOTTA LOVE THAT!!!!!

The video game competition was also a huge hit!!!

We didn’t have even one minute to breath between breakfast and lunch – because lunch arrived early (which I was VERY happy about!) Dave’s Cosmic Subs supplied lunch – and let me tell you – if you live in Cleveland, and have never been to Dave’s – YOU ARE MISSING OUT!   Their food is amazing!  They catered lunch for last year’s Yawpfest and everyone was SO happy – so I figured – “If it ain’t broke – why fix it?!”

We ordered an insane amount of subs, salads, and cookies & brownies.

All day long – there was seriously food flying and piling up everywhere!   When we were picking up the food – I was stressed we might have enough – at the end of the day – WE HAD 2 FULL CAR LOADS OF FOOD TO DONATE TO THE LOCAL FOOD BANK!!!!

10.13upload 019

Don’t worry ya’ll – I made sure to feed my face at some point during all the madness:

MMMM!   Dave’s – what do you put in your sauce?  I swear it has to be crack – it is so addictive!!!

The last quick change of the “day” – as soon as lunch was over – we pulled all the remaining sandwiches/salads – and set up “snack” since everyone wouldn’t be eating until 5:30 at the evening event!

We had crackers, cookies, fruit snacks, trail mix, muffins, granola, pretzels, fruit, and candy!!!

After lunch was cleaned up and the snack was set out – that was it for the “day”!!!!!   The Food Committee was the first committee to leave campus and head off to the “evening venue” to start to set up!

Want to know more about the evening venue?!  Come back tomorrow for Yawpfest 2009 Recap – Part 2!

For now – I’ll leave you an Operation Beautiful-esque picture, sans Operation Beautiful note – because this dorky homegirl – knows she looks good!

I’m one cool cat, wouldn’t you agree?

MAJOR kudos for putting that whole event together – I’m still chuckling that you called me on your break from blowing up balloons for it, hahaha ;)

Oh Allison, you are so funny! It looks like you did a FANTASTIC job putting on that event and you should be so proud of yourself! xoxo

Heck yeah you look good. You pull off the dorky look quite well :)

Great collection of food for the food bank. I love seeing healthy donations, as many people grab the most unhealthy foods and give them away, so sad.

This event looks absolutely FUNTASTIC! haha, yes, I just said funtastic. Who’s the nerd?? Can’t wait to hear/see more!

GREAT job with the food. Especially the brueggers! They have the best bagels and I haven’t had one in forever (there is one in downtown charleston I will have to hit up).

Once again, your company is the coolest, hire me please? Haha
I love the smell of fresh bagels. That and bacon they really need to make a Febreeze out of so my dorm can smell like that 24/7

Good job. :)
I’ve never had a bagel in my life! Am I missing something? Apparently I am… ahah They’re just not very common here in Portugal, I’ve actually only started seeing them rather recently in coffee shops and stores.

You are so awesome! I totally want to work with you – can I move to Ohio, pleeeease? What a great company – anything nerd-themed just tears at my heart strings ;)

You did a fantastic job and everything turned out GREAT! I don’t doubt that your sauce is addictive!
