Foodbuzz Festival Friday!

San Francisco is AWESOME!  I have been walking around with a permanent grin on my face for the past 48 hours!!  :)

Our day Friday started with some coffee, and the Today Show (which I was very concerned about.  I wasn’t sure if they Today Show existed in CA because of the time difference! )

Our hotel room is AMAZING!   Thanks to the wonderful Danica – we have a sweet room at the Wyndham – which even has a kitchenette and dining area!

Quinn and I both woke up late by EST definitions (9:45am!) – but it was still EARLY on the West Coast, which worked out perfectly for us!  As soon as we got up and dressed – when we out to explore the city!!

The hills were BRUTAL, but definitely a good work out!

The view, basically every way you look is GORGEOUS!!!

I swear this is the Mrs. Doubtfire street:lol:

We walked about 2 miles – all the way to the Fisherman’s Wharf, which had tons of stuff to check out!  We hit up a Chocolate Candy Store and a Taffy Candy store (apparently, San Franciscans like their candy in barrels!)

You name it – they had it covered in chocolate!  Look at this licorice!!!! :D

Candy Cane Truffles:11.7upload 043

and Colossal Peanut Butter cups!!! :) 11.7upload 044

I ended up buying some gummie fruit slices, and Lindt “Touch of Sea Salt” chocolate bar!  YUM!

We also checked out all the wonderful sights – but since it was foggy – were weren’t able to see everything!   Here’s the Bay Bridge:

Alcatraz:

and what should be the Golden Gate bridge:

The silly, stinky, crazy sea lions:

By the time we’d checked everything out – it was about 11 (2pm EST) and we still hadn’t eaten!  So when we walked by this crepe place – we were instantly intrigued!  :)

11.7upload 060

We decided it was the perfect place for lunch – so I went ahead and ordered the “Turkey Crepe” which had turkey, Monterey jack cheese, roma tomatoes and avocado!

AHHHHH-MAZING!  :)

It started really raining shortly there after – so we just headed back towards the hotel to hang out and wait for everyone!  That’s all I have time for right now – I’ll catch you up on everything later! :)

Hope you are having a great weekend!!

I grew up for 7 years near San Fran and it still holds a big place in my heart! Such a beautiful city with so much to do and see. Sounds like you had a nice workout walking around (the hills are killer!) Enjoy the rest of your trip

Aren’t those sea lions hysterical? Yes they have chocolate covered everything and no one is fat. It’s like perfection lol I guess because you walk everywhere?

Savory crepes are so good. I love how they work sweet and savory.

Omg your hotel is totally swankified! I love it! The city looks so cool, too. That crepe looks delicious! I don’t think I’ve ever had a savory crepe before.

Looks like you are having a blast in San Fran! But PLEASE tell me that you’ve had a crepe from Crepes de Luxe at the West Side Market! Their menu is online at http://www.crepesdeluxe.com/ – I can’t pick a favorite b/c I’ve love every single one that I’ve tried!

I’ve never been to San Francisco. It looks great. Chocolate covered stuff rocks. Especially chocolate covered gummy bears.

I went to San Fran when I was 3 years old and rode the trolley :) I’ve been wanting to go back ever since! It looks like you are having a fantastic time and I’m glad that you and Quinn are living it up! Hope the rest of the conference went well!

Argh, I’ve been looking for that Lindt chocolate with sea salt and I can’t find it anywhere. So frustrating. Everybody keeps saying it’s so good, I really wanted to try it.

I’m glad you’ve been having a good time, I think it’s a general thing! Foodbuzz really rocked the festival! :D

I was in San Fran last February for a work conference (before I became a teacher) and really loved it too! Your pictures are bringing back fond memories! I hope you have a blast.
