Happy Tuesday! (or should I say “Friday” for some VERY lucky people!)
I still have to work on Wednesday – so I’ve got a little ways to go, but if I get stressed or upset – I just keep reminding myself “2 more days, 2 more days, 2 more days” – because Thursday…
I’ll be in MEXICO!
Okay – I’ll stop rubbing it in.
Because of our trip – I’ve been trying to use up items in our pantry/fridge/freezer that I know will go bad while we are gone. I knew I had Almond Milk to use up – which meant I HAD to buy cereal at the store on Sunday!
My choice:
Fruity Cheerios!
These tasted exactly like smaller Froot Loops! And while the ingredient list may not be “all natural” or “organic” – I was impressed that I actually could pronounce MOST items on this list:
Whatever. I eat “Kids Sugar Cereal”. And I make no apologies for that.
Lunch was the rest of the romaine (that I think had already started to go bad – doesn’t this look like one sad salad!):
and the rest of my Shells & Cheese/roasted veggie combo from Saturday night:
and for snack (as if my Shells/Veggie combo didn’t have enough sodium) – some Lindt with “A Touch of Sea Salt”
This is still the bar I got in San Fran – and it’s almost gone!!
I need to find a place in Cleveland that sells these suckers on the cheap!
At the end of the day – I was working away, while simultaneously day dreaming of how fabulous Thursday will be – and I decided I wanted to get in a few more good “sweat sessions” (I know – lame word, but it’s the phrase that I thought. So at least I’m lamely consistent.
) before our trip.
I rushed home, got changed, grabbed half of an apple, and took a picture of my man hand holding said apple, while my crazy dog begged at my feet for a walk instead of Mommy going to the gym. (Was that really even a sentence?
)![]()
I am seriously OBSESSED with spinning right now.
While I would rather be running – my foot isn’t totally cooperating, and spinning makes me feel like I’m still getting in an amazing workout! LOVE IT!
By the time I got home it was 8pm and I hadn’t eaten dinner – and I wanted something IMMEDIATELY. I went straight for the veggie dogs!
Served up on “poor buns”.
Funny story*. (*I am by no means making fun of the poor)
When Mike and I first started dating – I had suggested having hot dogs for dinner one day. (Yeah – I’m a classy gal) Here’s how the conversation went:
Me: Want hot dogs for dinner?
Mike: No, we can’t have hot dogs, we don’t have buns.
Me: (extremely nonchalantly) Oh that’s okay, we have bread
Mike: (staring in disbelief) What would bread have to do with hot dogs?
Me: We can just use the bread as buns.
Mike: (left speechless)…
To this day – Mike finds it simultaneously hysterical and mind boggling that we grew up eating our hot dogs on slices of bread. He just can’t wrap his head around it. Apparently – if you grew up with a house over your head and a warm bed to sleep in – all hot dogs should be eaten on hot dog buns.
I digress.
Dinner:
Dessert – some ghetto guac:
My avocado OBVIOUSLY was not ripe enough since I could barely cut it – but I wanted “needed” to eat it since it would go bad over our trip. It was still tasty – just not the consistency I was going for!
On the agenda from now until we leave – GO GO GO GO GO GO GO GO GO GO!
Are you ready for your holiday? Is it time for you to relax??

I’m soooo jealous. Have a blast in Mexico…swimming, fruity drinks, tasty eats, suntans!!!
My hubby gets super fussy about funny things too…normally he is such a go with the flow guy, but if you try to give him some generic american cheese instead of Kraft he will cry! LOL
Have a great vacation!

What part of Mexico are you going to lucky you!!?? There’s nothing better than sugary kid cereal. I loved Cap n Crunch and Berries, Fruity Pebbles, and Lucky Charms.

Have a great trip! I have been obsessed with spinning lately too! I think it’s because there is not as much bouncing as running. It’s a great workout though!
Have a blast and we will plan a get together around Christmas, if you are around!

Can I go to Mexico? It’s rainy windy and yuck here. We always used bread too until I grew up and came off meat. I never use buns
And kids cereal is seriously crack in a box. I love that junky junk stuff whenever I’m in a cheat mood
AWW my puppies do that too when I lace up my running shoes and don’t take them.

HA!
When I was little and we would run out of bread, Anna would make my PB&Js on hot dog buns!!! How does Mike feel about that?!?!
Why we always ran out of bread and never out of hot dog buns is beyond me, but let me just say the hot dog buns made for much easier dipping into my milk.

World Market sells dark chocolate with sea salt, it’s their own brand and it’s not very expensive at all.
Oh yeah, hot dogs on bread for shiz. Cut them in half, stuff with cheese, mustard, and ketchup, bake for a min till the cheese is melted, pretty good stuff.

I’ve eaten hot dogs on tortillas before.
I pretty much make do with whatever is on hand if I need to!!
Here in NY there are Lindt stores. Maybe there’s one in a mall near you? They had them on sale 5 for about $10 I think – plus you can get a free bar if you spend a certain amount and join their “Chocolate Club”.
Not like I need an excuse to eat more chocolate!!

Have fun in mexico lucky bitch!

I’m home in Cleveland and I’m so happy and content just looking at blogs and relaxing. The hot dog bun story is too funny. We used to cut our hot dogs in half and make a sandwich when we didn’t have buns.

That hot dog story is hysterical. I have to say, I’ve gone sans bread if we don’t have buns. It’s just not the same. I know, who am I and get over myself
Have a safe and wonderful trip to Mexico! I hope you guys live it up! Adios senorita!

I can’t eat hot dogs on bread. I can’t even eat burgers on bread. Things need their appropriate buns

a) Fred Meyer sells the Lindt/Touch of Sea Salt. You have Fred’s? Or Kroger? (same co. I think)… If not, I’m assuming most similar such stores carry it in the chocolate aisle.
2) Wow, I thought everyone served hot dogs on regular bread when they were out of buns??? No?? I know my family did…
d) So it was pointed out to me this weekend that I’m a paranoid moron… the Frank’s does NOT have calories! When I scanned the bottle that day I saw that a serving size was a tsp (I still say BS) and looked right below that, saw 136 and panicked… ummm the 136 is servings per bottle, NOT calories.
I’m smaaaaart!! Don’t worry, I’m an attorney… !!!! hahahahaha

PLEASE let me know where I can get that Lindt chocolate. I tried to find it at Whole Foods & TJ’s this past weekend to no avail. Is it at Target?
Enjoy your trip! I just got back from the Bahamas and being in the sunshine for a week was AMAZING!

I am jealous that you are headed to Mexico!!!! Have a blast and enjoy every second : )
Oh, and while I have not eaten a hot dog in a really long time – I have certainly had my fair share of them served up on some high class bread – never on buns ; )

We also always had to eat our hot dogs on buns (but we did make spaghetti sandwiches with bread!). Carl suggested that we have hot dogs on bread one day and I about had a fit! So funny

Mexico is totally worth working Wednesday! Have fun, girl
And I looove those fruity cheerios–it’s been way too long since I’ve had em! They’re just like fruit loops, but I feel better about eating them
And I eat hot dogs/soy dogs on bread, too. I see nothing wrong with that, haha.
