So long, San Francisco!

My time in San Francisco was fantastic – beautiful weather, wonderful people, amazing food – and the clincher: kick @$$ SWAG!!!  11.11fromupload 243

I literally filled a whole suitcase full of all the awesome stuff that Foodbuzz hooked us up with!  Rough life, huh?

The whole festival was brought to a close by brunch on Sunday (sponsored by Skyy), at Lu Lu, a local San Fran restaurant.

A “Make your Own Bloody Mary Bar” basically greeted us at the door!

But after all the indulgence in alcohol over the days prior – I decided to pass and stick with a water and a cup of coffee!  (although if you look closely – you can see a “booze” reflection in my coffee!)

The buffet looked fabulous!

They had 2 different types of salad (which I was all over – my body was CRAVING veggies!), grilled ham and (KERRYGOLD!!) cheese, spinach & mushroom frittata, and french toast!

I was so excited for a veggie filled, sit down meal – I just HAD to go back for seconds!

The brunch was a beautiful ending to a perfect weekend!    After we said our goodbyes – some people had to go straight to the airport, but my group all had “red eyes” so we had lots of time to go off and explore the city!

We went into a store, and 5 minutes later – came out to find this happening:

In the 5 minutes we were in the store – a parade had started!

Then our groups split up.  Quinn and I started walking to explore the city, while the other girls did some shopping.

We hit up another Farmer’s Market while walking:

Anyone know what kind of squash this is?  :???:

11.11fromupload 270

Look at all the different kind of dates this one stand had!!

11.11fromupload 271 11.11fromupload 272

We walked a good 5 miles, just to see:

11.11fromupload 279

“Postcard Row” – aka “The Painted Ladies” – aka “Full House Street!”

Turns out – Danny Tanner didn’t live in any of these.  The “housefront” they use for the show is actually on Broderick, a few streets down.  Pretty sneaky Tanner family.

After our stop there – we kept walking, and found Golden Gate park!  The views were GORGEOUS!!!!!

11.11fromupload 283

As we were walking through Golden Gate park – Quinn and I finally gave up!  Our end goal was the Cliff House, on the Pacific Ocean – but we just kept walking and walking.  Turns out – the map we were using was “not to scale”  Soooo – after walking at least 10 miles (we thought it was only going to be about 5) – we hopped on a bus.  Thank goodness we did – because we were still another 4 miles from the ocean!

We did make it there eventually though!!!   To make it even better – Ashley and Janetha met us there!!

Beautiful Pacific views!

We were going to eat at the Cliff House – but the wait was pretty long, and after all that walking – we were HUNGRY!   So we walked up the street about 1/2 a mile and ate at the Sea Lion Inn.   My reward for walking so far?  A grilled ham and cheese and FRIES!!!!

Then we took the bus back to our hotel and started to pack up! I was so sad to be leaving!  Everyone I met was so incredibly nice, and the experience itself was wonderful!  It was fantastic being around other ladies who have the same interests and hobbies as you – AND it was really nice not getting weird looks when taking pictures of my food!    Thanks for a fabulous weekend everyone!!!

So long, San Francisco – I hope to see you again soon!

Love the recap!! Especially the views, so many people concentrated on the food (who wouldn’t?!) on their recaps, but I’ve never been to San Francisco, so I enjoyed the cliff pictures and architecture! :D

And a reward of grilled cheese and fries is always a good thing!

I never though to look for the Full House house!

Love the recap. I love the different pictures. How knew there were so many dates?

And the ocean is gorgeous. I loved finishing by it during Nike! It’s too gorgeous.

i love that you got to spend some time in san fran… being a portlander, i take particular pride in all of the left coast!! =)

i’m probably behind the curve on this, but is foodbuzz planning to do this every year? or was this a one time extravaganza??

You know Susan, who’s right above me in the comments. She was the Maid of Honor in my wedding. I told her your blog was a must read. Just wanted to share that.

Now I have a sudden craving for bloody mary’s and Bob Saget. Mmm…Saget.

Too bad you didn’t see Uncle Jesse – such a stud ;)

What a great ending to a wonderful weekend!! That would be hard to leave behind!

Way to clean up on the goods!! Is that a french press or a frothing thinger?

Great food pics and views *sigh* I love San Francisco so much!! I think those might be round zucchinis…80% sure…I might be thinking of something else though.

I would have been super excited to see the Full House house. Even if it wasn’t really it. I wanted to be DJ Tanner so badly when I was a kid. I thought she dressed really great and had great hair. Clearly, I have come a long way!

I am soooooooooooo happy you had so MUCH FUN in my city~!!!! However, I am quite depressed all THIS WENT ON when I am on the other side of the country! My momma (CYNTHIA!) and aunt works at Stone and Youngberg…which is the investment bank on the second floor of the ferry building!!! Cynth used to splurge and bring back SUCH GOURMET goodies for dinner from all those places!! LIFE !!!!

MISS YOU GIRLFRIEND!!! Your posts make me SMILE EVERYDAY! :D :D

That’s an amazing about of swag! You cracked me up with the Full House stuff! I’m now craving a grilled ham & cheese sandwich.

[Reply]

Oh my gosh look at that stash!! Did you have to buy a new suitcase for all those goodies ??? How did you cram them all into your little carry on?? Must be…those crazy packing skills. hehehehe

That buffet spread looks ridiculous, but I think your plate of food looks even better. *drool* Love the pictures of interesting sights you saw!! The date selection reminds me of the markets in Asia!! :)
