Thanksgiving Challenge Update

Alternately titled:  “I’m full of excuses”, and “I’m the Queen of Excuses”.

So last year when we did the challenge, there may have been a little cheating here and there (we said we were including alcohol in the $126, but definitely didn’t) – but this year…well, this year is down right silly with the excuses I’m coming up with.

I’ve actually thought these things:

“Oh this lunch out doesn’t count because I’m paying in cash”

“We needed it, so I don’t need to include it in the total”

“This dinner doesn’t count, because it’s money I had set aside for San Fran, so it’s leftover”

“Did I say ‘dinners out’ don’t count in the rules?  I’m pretty sure I did.”

“Liquids don’t count, do they?”

“This is a special occasion lunch – it totally doesn’t count”

“Anything bought in the airport doesn’t count”

Should I just say Mike boycotted today and said that nothing we bought goes towards the total?” (BAD ALLISON!)

“Anything bought in San Francisco doesn’t count”

I mean – really?  Is saving money that hard?   Tired of my excuses yet?  I’m sure I’ve got many more – so if you’d like to challenge me on anything – feel free!

Since you are all tired of hearing my lame @$$ excuses Excuses aside, allow me to give you an actual update:

Marc’s $ 23.18
Target $ 12.77
Marc’s $ 49.81
Total on 11/15 $ 85.76
Remaining: $ 14.24

And to be HONEST – I’m okay with $14.24 left to get us through 11/30 (and NO, it’s not because I’m thinking I’ll just make excuses and spend whatever I want! ).  I’m okay with it – because we leave for Mexico on Thanksgiving, and come back in December.  So the groceries I bought today, will definitely last us until next weekend, and then I can spend $14.24 to buy groceries to get us through 3 days.

Hope you enjoyed my excuses. Let me know if you need me to come up with an excuse for you!

:P I’m the queen of excuses! All of those sound legit to me. I hate saving money. I’m struggling through with an old Ipod since my beloved shuffle drowned today. GRR

I’m a little behind on Greek translating, and I’d love an idea for an excuse

Hahaha loved the excuses :)

There is no way I could last a month on $126, even if dinners out and alcohol were not included. I’m buying your excuses ;)

… except for the one where you’re paying cash, so that doesn’t count. That’s just crazy. hehe

I feel your pain too. This weekend was all about excuses. I’m about to calculate the damage and it doesn’t look pretty.

you can do it!

and I’ll let you know if I need an excuse :)
