I have an EXTREMELY important question for you.
A comment that was left yesterday is what made me think of it…
Have you ever made “Rice Krispie Treats” – but subbed in a different cereal, instead of Rice Krispies? In college – we would make them with Fruity Pebbles. Oh.MY.GOD – those were the best treats EVER!!!!
If you have a fun spin on the traditional Rice Krispie Treat – let me know! I think I need to experiment after we get back from our trip!
My day started with another bowl of cereal (and the last of the almond milk! – check that off the “Finish before you leave” list!
)
While I’m still totally digging the Fruity Cheerios – they do NOT fill me up. I’ve been starving by 10am the past two days at work!
Lunch was a half baked (no pun intended) recipe I dreamt up the night before around 10pm:
In an effort to finish everything – I attempt to whip up some stuffed peppers:
that I can honestly say – were a fail. I didn’t season them right since I was just “winging it”. Very, very, very, very, VERY bland!
I mixed in some roasted broccoli, 2 laughing cow wedges (yeah – it was that bad), red pepper flakes, and some hot sauce:
After my additions – it was edible, but I’m pretty sure the 2nd one I have waiting in the fridge is going in the garbage. Or – maybe I’ll try to see if anyone I work with would like it (and then hope that they eat it before they read my glowing review above!
)
Abrupt transition: Remember a few weeks ago when I was cursing all the office candy bowls? Well this week I’m cursing the office “economy size tub of pretzels” – I can’t keep my hands out of it!!!
Look at how much salt was on this one!!! (it was going to be heavenly…until KRISTIN stole it, and didn’t even apologize!
)
Once I finally got home from a work – I had a list a mile long of things to get done tonight – but the most important on that list? Eat. (Of course!)
While dinner was heating up – I snacked on some cukes:
I’ve been loving cucumbers lately. I go through love/hate phases with them – and I’m full on in love right now!
Dinner was a PROPERLY seasoned bowl of the “stuffing” that went into the aforementioned “Stuffed Peppers”:
This was MUCH BETTER!
After cleaning, laundry, packing, walking Lander – I sat down to work, blog, watch Biggest Loser and test out my very own personal jar of:
My friend Kelly was able to snag me a jar this weekend! I really do love this stuff! I know others aren’t huge fans of it – but I really enjoy it and think it tastes just like regular PB – you just have the ability to make it as thick or as runny as you like it!
Happy Hump Day!

Those pretzels remind me of being a kid and going to Stride Rite shoes in the mall. They always had a jar of pretzels. That was random, I know.

I have a love/hate relationship with bell peppers. Sometimes I think it depends on the phases of the moon whether I’ll love a bell or not. (By phases of the moon, I mean my cycle of course)

Agree with the hot sauce remedy for the peppers. I also like to top them with cheese and put under the broiler for a few. I’m excited to see what kind of cereal bars you come up with! I think I have had them made with cocoa crisps!

Mmmm, that salt has got my mouth watering. Love it! I probably would have bit my friends hand for stealing it. No one comes between me and my salt.
My campus sold peanut butter Rice Krispies that were as big as my face and amazingly delicious!

My friend once used Reese’s cereal to make treats and they were ridiculously good. Horrible health stats but AMAZING.

Ugh those big tubs of pretzels are DANGEROUS in the office. One of my old jobs used to have them…thankfully I switched to a different department! My grandma makes a sort of rice krispy bar type thing but with honey nut cheerios, peanuts, and m&ms mixed in. AND I’ve had cocoa pebbles treats too! Go crazy!

Pretzels are dangerous around me. They stand no chance. And I would have taken a head off for stealing that salty one! I NEED my salt!
I never thought of trying different cereals… HMM Captain Crunch or Cocoa Krispies could make a mean variation!

to make “healthy” rice crispy’s, I do 6 cups puffed brown rice with 1/2 cup peanut butter and 1/2 cup honey microwaved to get soft, and then someties add in dark chocolate chips before they set. Yum!

I haven’t used a different cereal, but a friend of mine once made rice crispy treats with cocoa krispies and strawberry flavoring (though, i think raspberry would be interesting). I thought he was crazy, but they were pretty yummy!
Have an awesome vacation!!

oh giiiiirl… my family is royalty when it comes to the rice krispie treats and the variations thereof!
(thereof? really? can you tell i’m at work right now??)
fruity pebbles, fruit loops, count chocula, captain crunch, honey nut cheerios… or even healthier stuff (kashi treats anyone?)…
but the BEST… is mixing different cereals together!
so you could have rice krispie/peanut butter crunch/fruit loop treats!
JUST SAYIN
