Well hello!
Wait..What is this? A regular blog post?! It is! Anyone still there?
I can safely say after being home for 1 week – I am finally back in the swing of things! Now – if only my Christmas shopping would just “do itself” and someone else would take care of that flat tire I got last week – we’d be all set!
I was a cooking fiend over the weekend – so let’s start there!
Fruity Pebbles “Rice Krispie Treats” – after our discussion before we left:
![]()
Pizza: (final product looked bad – all you get is the bag)
I’ve been so busy lately, and our cupboards had been so bare – I forgot how much I loved to cook!
With all the cooking I did over the weekend – my meals from yesterday are just basically a different variation of one of the four pictures above!
Being that I had a box of Fruity Pebbles just sitting in my cupboard – I figured that was the best way to start my first full week back to work! (with some Fruity Cheerios mixed in of course!)
and for lunch I had leftover Mac, with a sad looking salad:
While my salad might be one sad sack – this mac and cheese sure makes up for it!!!
Dinner – Salad with the some baked tofu, parmesan, banana peppers, topped with hummus and balsamic! It’s been so long since I used hummus/balsamic as my dressing…
…and it was just as fabulous as I had remembered!
To make an already great day, EVEN BETTER, I came home to a package, from the lovely Miss Dottie over at Foodcents’s Blog!
And not just ANY package – look at the sweet flippin’ loot I got from her:
- Celestial Seasonings Holiday flavors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Sriracha!!!!
- Spicy and Salty Chocolate!!!!!
- PB!!!!
- Fruit Leathers!!!
- Coupons for Sunshine Burgers!!!!
- Udi’s Granola Nuggets!!!
Based on the contents of the package – I feel like Dottie and I have known each other for a very long while!
THANK YOU SO SO SO SO MUCH!!!
Of course – after I saw this:
I couldn’t bear the thought of having to wait one more second before breaking into it!
Listen Candy Bar Wrapper – I’m already sold on how amazing you are going to be, so you don’t need to sell me on how awesome this candy bar will taste! And NO, I will not share it with Mike or Lando.
love. Love. LOVE!!!!!!!!! Ya’ll know I’m not a huge sweet fan – but I can honestly see myself madly craving this one day (after this bar is gone) and traveling across the country just to get one.
Yeah. It’s that good.

Holy sweet ass package! I just love Dottie and she hooked you up! The girls wanted those Fruity Cheerios the other day but I was a mean mommy and said no. They need to visit Aunty Alli.

When I saw said chocolate bar, it screamed your name – I knew you two were destined for greatness together, a match made in heaven if you will….
Hope you enjoy it all and then some. I am so very pleased that the USPS got their stuff together and brought you two together.
Much love, my friend!!!

Mmm that chocolate looks delish! I picked up some chipotle dark chocolate at World Market a while ago…need to get some more of that soon! Question: I want to try your faux mac & cheese, but I was wondering where you get your frozen pureed squash? Is it just with the frozen veggies at the grocery store?

This is the best candy bar ever. I had one a year ago from a local European style market a mile from my house. It was in their half off section. I fell in love. I went back to buy the remaining ten bars, but they were GONE. I haven’t been able to find it since. I just did an online search for it and your blog came up. Now I can be more specific in my valentine’s request. Thanks.
