To start my Hump Day off properly (it is the 3rd day of the work week, ya know) I had a fabulous 3 step breakfast!
Step 1 – pick 3 delicious ingredients.
- Vanilla Chobani
- Blueberry Kashi Cereal
- Perfectly ripe POM Pomegranate arlis
Step 2: Combine into 1 container.
All week, I’ve felt like I’m coming down with something – and yesterday, it was definitely getting worse by the second.
That being said – I knew I didn’t want a salad, or anything crazy for lunch – I just wanted nice, easy, “make me feel like I’m not sick” soup:
Topped with red pepper flakes (to hopefully clean out my sinuses),
and a pickle on the side!
Just in case the red pepper flakes didn’t do their job – I figured I should take some medicine eat the rest of my Chili Cherry chocolate bar from Dottie!
I didn’t get home from work until almost 7:30 – and by then I was feeling downright rotten – I really just wanted to eat, and go to bed. The easiest thing I could come up with:
More of my baked tofu leftovers, topped with cheese, Frank’s and RF Ranch:
Instead of taking traditional medicine – I figured I should keep going with my “chocolate was the best medicine” theory. Luckily – I had some on hand (thanks to Kristin being a nice friend and buying this for me!!!
)
Then I fell asleep on the couch for about an hour, moved to bed, and tossed and turned all night.
I’m glad it’s just a “cold” sort of sick, and not the flu – but I’m just ready to feel all better now. I wish I could just snap my fingers and go back to feeling 100%.
Anyone have any great home remedies or tricks to kicking a cold’s bootay? Please share!!!!!

Not sure if you’ve ever tried Zicam, but my dad swears by it! I usually just drink tons of water, sleep a lot, and take extra vitamin C! Feel better soon

Soup filled with super immunity stuff…garlic, onions, spinach, beans. And citrus fruit for some vitamin C!
I can’t find that touch of sea salt chocolate anywhere and that makes me sad.
Feel better!

ok EVERYONE thinks this is ridiculous but ALKA SELTZER. i’m telling you it’s the cure to all colds – oh and buy orange flavor tablets you dissolve not the pills…and don’t sniff it bc it burns your nose (did it the other day).
ps the only thing i like about colds is my voice – i seem to talk more bc i think i sound cool, ha ha.

Please do not take Zicam…I lost my sense of smell from it and am currently in a class action lawsuit. It is true that it works for some people but many have lost their sense of smell permanently. I took it one time and one time only and have expierence complete loss of sense of smell. It is awful! Sorry to come out of lurking but this is soemthing that I am obviously passionate about……Zicam is not tested by the FDA.

I LOVE Air-borne ! Start taking as soon as you feel any sign of getting sick, and keep taking it. I buy the stuff by the truck load. A swig of Nyquil and lots and lots of rest! Feel better !!

I like to make Emergen-C and OJ cocktails
Dunno if they actually work or it’s just a placebo effect…
Also, popping Nyquil knocks you on your ass for 12 hours so I’m convinced it’s gotta help somehow
Hope you feel better!

There have been some studies that show that garlic (in pill form or the good stuff) helps resolve colds!!

Vitamin C supplements, tons of showers, a mixing orange juice with either ginger ale or sprite always make me feel better sooner!

Neti pot and juice, tons of juice. I also eat jalapenos because I read that somewhere once, but I think that’s pure placebo effect.
