Mexico Part 1

Hola amigos!  (Hey – let me keep doing the Spanish for a little while – makes me feel like I’m back on vacation!)

I loved reading about all of your Thanksgivings/family time!  (or hearing about it all my non-blog-having-friends!!)    While you were all eating delicious turkey with green bean casseroles, and visiting with your families – Mike and I were on a plane, then on a another plane, then in a van – and then FINALLY –  at the Dreams Riviera Cancun resort!

The hotel lobby: (we checked in during the day – this picture was just way cooler)

Doesn’t it look straight out of Jurassic Park??? (or am I too much like a 10 year old boy?)

When we got to our room – they had champagne & fruit waiting for us:

While Mike broke into the champagne – I did the food blogger/girl thing – take LOTS of picture!

Our own private “Plunge Pool”:

After we got settle and finished our champagne – we went back to the Jurassic Park hotel lobby for drinks at the bar:

Isn’t that view gorgeous?!

The bartender definitely knew how to make good martinis (chilling the glass while mixing the liquids is KEY!)

Heaven!

and then I continued taking pictures of everything in sight.  I’m easy to please, so pretty much everything I came across I had to exclaim “OHMIGOD! LOOK HOW COOL!” – Mike loves that

Cool chair:

Cool lamp thingy:

Hot hubby!

and then Mike especially loved it when I handed him the camera and ordered politely asked him “Take my picture!”

The rest of the first day is pretty much a blur.  There was wandering around, there was eating somewhere in there – and lots of tequila!

My favorite tequila drink:  “Skinny Girl Margarita”

11.30fromupload - Mexico 025

2 shots of “blanco” tequila, 1 shot of triple sec, and lots of fresh lime.

I mean – look how happy this girl is:

That should tell you how good that drink is!

Mike’s drink (White Russian or “Russo Blanco” for you Spanish speakers  ), and mine:

I loved saying “Como se dice…” and then filling in the blank with the English word.  I’m sure the staff hated me by the last day!

And last – I leave you with – me – by about 8pm.  Roughly 10 minutes before Mike but me to bed.

Hey – when in Rome Mexico, right?

Sorry no food pictures – I ended up just drunkenly eating a whole bunch of romaine and hearts of palm!  It wasn’t nearly as exciting as your Thanksgiving dinner, I assure you.

More recaps to come!!!!

So jealous!
Como se dice…. was our favorite phrase when we were in Spain. I knew it had gotten out of hand when Chris was ordering gelato in Barcelona and asked the guy (who obviously spoke no English), “Como se dice Scoop?”
