Applebutt’s

First and foremost, thanks for all your kind words on my post yesterday.  I did it just to get stuff off my chest, I had no idea the amazing emails and comments I would receive because of it.  So thank you.  A million times – thank you!

So after a week of leaving work to this sad scene: 1.10pns 004Come Friday night – I was ready for some adult beverages!

When I got home from work, Mike and I snacked on my lunch (which didn’t get eaten because the VP of our department bought us all lunch!) 1.10dslr 002 Then we decided – since we still have a trillion dollars in gift cards to Applebee’s, it would be best to head up there and grab drinks and some appetizers!  (although – I do have to say – I’m really starting to hate that place. After our gift cards run out I don’t want to go back for a while!)

Much to my delight – I found out they still had Great Lakes Christmas Ale on tap!   I promptly ordered the largest size beer they had.  I knew Applebee’s had to be good for something.

1.10pns 016

We also split this monster:1.10pns 019 Nothing like fried food and beer for dinner!   My brother ended up meeting us up there and we were there until almost 10! (Yes, drinking Christmas Ale the whole time.  I was very ready for bed at that point!)

Saturday morning, I woke up not feeling great, partly due to the 3 huge Christmas Ale’s I’d consumed the night before, partly because all of these things were on my mind –so I had chips for breakfast:1.10dslr 006

While I wrote yesterday’s post – and felt 5 million times better.

So much so – I got my bootay off the couch and went and did my 4 mile training run. While the run was SLOWWWWWW – it felt great, and by the time I got home at 4 – I was a new woman!

I came home to find these:1.10dslr 005 Doggie tags for my little munchkins!   We never got one for Lando (I known – I’m a terrible dog mommy) and on New Years Eve – I finally realized – HOLY CRAP – WE REALLY NEED TAGS FOR THESE TWO LITTLE MUFFINS!

Harvey says: I disapprove of how long it took you to get us tags.  1.10dslr 007Last night – I went over to my friend Kelly’s, because she was having a birthday party for her son – who was turning 1! 1.10pns 023It’s crazy to me that one of my friend’s from high school already has a 1 year old!  Isn’t he just the cutest?1.10pns 025 He was more scared than anything – he wanted nothing to do with his individual cake, no smashing, no hand dirtying, no nothing! 1.10pns 026You know I don’t have much of a sweet tooth – so I skipped cake, but made myself a dinner plate with rigatoni, hummus & pita chips, lots of salad, and 1 “pig in a blanket” 1.10pns 020Then I rented The Proposal on the way home – and called it a night!  Have any of you seen that?  I usually don’t like those sorts of romantic comedies – but I absolutely loved this!  Maybe part of it had to do with Ryan Reynolds – but still.    If you haven’t seen The Proposal, I’d definitely say it’s worth renting!

Hey, I didn’t comment yesterday b/c I was blog reading via crackberry and it’s just a pain, but I wanted to say I’m glad you’re feeling better and got everything off your chest. You’ll feel like yourself again soon, I know it!

1. I love Harvey’s face in the picture.
2. I love that someone is wearing a Steelers sweater at the birthday party. GO STEELERS! We’ll win it all next year! Ok, moving on…
3. I love Applebee’s wings. In my opinion, their wing sauce is the best! At least I’ve never had better. I was a server at Applebee’s for 3+ years to pay my way through college, so I have had my fair share of their wings.
4. Congrats on an awesome run!

:)

Oh my gosh, how did I miss the part about The Proposal?! I love that movie, and OMG – could Ryan Reynolds be any sexier?! Good grief! Just had to get that out there.

Applebutt’s is funny — we always called it Crapplebee’s. :)

Mmmm Ryan Reynolds – makes the movie 32950395 million times better ;-) Love him. My roommates and I have been saying forever we need to hit up Applebee’s happy hour. I’ve heard it’s a good one!

We went to Applebees last night as well! I got the shrimp thing you had the other night-very good. Also, regarding your “truth bombs” let me just say that I always try to surround myself with those that push me farther. I have never run a race because I am too chicken even though I have been running forever and I would love to start a blog but probably never will. I read your blog because you push me in these areas that I hope to improve and you are definitely an inspiraton to others, including me! I hope the new years brings new progress for you (and hopefully a race for me!!!) How wonderful it is that the new year brings a time for regrouping and a renewed outlook. “Progress not perfection” here’s to that!!

I have a billion gift cards to applebee’s too and I am so sick of it. UGH! But that appetizer and a beer looks like a good idea on a friday night!

I also loved The Proposal. Ryan Reynolds definitely made the movie for me.

Yeah, I’m not a big fan of that movie (I hate chick flicks), but I am a big fan of his naked scene in that movie!!!

I LOVED The Proposal. The husband didn’t mind it either, which says a lot haha.

I agree The Proposal was surprisingly good!! Harvey is the cutest and that’s saying something – because I think my dog holds that honor. :)

I was MIA yesterday and just read your last post…good for you for outlining a plan for change. I always feel better when I can put things on paper. In my head, my thoughts can feel like a jumbled mess so I am too overwhelmed to take action. On paper, my thoughts feel more tangible.

Babies and a romantic comedy sound like the perfect way to life your spirits today. I loved The Proposal. Sandra Bullock was great in it!

Just read your previous post about your bawling your heart out and glad to know you are feeling much better now:)
Nice cute photos you’ve got here and I am going to rent that movie too.

I’m glad that you are feeling better today and I hope that this week brings you more smiles than tears.

I’ve never seen The Proposal, but it’s on our list.

I know what you mean about Applebee’s. I went there on New Year’s eve for drinks but when Jeff suggested sitting down for an appetizer, I didn’t really want to. Their food makes me sick. They have awesome white peach sangria though!

[Reply]

yay for Christmas Ale!! I’m not a beer drinker but I feel like it’s a must to enjoy one or two while in Cleveland. Bonus points to Applebees!

[...] bacon!Yeah – WOW! I know just a few weeks ago I was totally doggin’ chain restaurants (hello, Crappblebee’s!), but this salad was AWESOME!   You can’t really see it, but the salad even had 3 huge slices [...]
