Quick & Easy

It was that sort of day!

With all my lounging on Sunday – the thought “We need groceries!” didn’t even cross my mind.  Which meant Sunday was relaxing, and spent nice and warm indoors, but I was kind of screwed when it came to food yesterday!

Breakfast scrounge – the 1 egg left saved the day – and I was able to make spicy oats (seeing as I have an arsenal of oats at all times):     1.19 016Having a Costco sized package of Morning Star sausage patties helps too!

Lunch – as portable as can be – Progresso Light Soup, and my ALL TIME FAVORITE FLAVOR OF POP CHIPS – parmesan garlic!! 1.19 018 I know these might not be the most natural of foods (seeing as they can sit in a can on your shelf for at least a year, and still be considered “not expired”) – but you really can’t beat how easy they are to make, when you are in a pinch, and how delicious they taste!! 1.19 019

Snack – some carrots I cut up last week  , with some Naturally More PB hanging out in my desk drawer:1.19 020 I didn’t get home from work until late and I was looking for some more of that quick and easy action!    I have a full arsenal of Restaurant.com coupons hanging out in my purse – so when I came home to a hungry husband, and a grocery-less house – we hopped all over those coupons and went to Boneyard!

Quick & Easy appetizer: Chips and Salsa!1.19 001My dinner – Cobb Salad, minus the bacon!1.19 003Yeah – WOW! I know just a few weeks ago I was totally doggin’ chain restaurants (hello, Crappblebee’s!), but this salad was AWESOME!   You can’t really see it, but the salad even had 3 huge slices of avocado!  I actually ate so much of it I had a stomach ache – and I NEVER do that anymore!   Thanks for the change of pace Boneyard!

Side rant:   Have any of you been watching The Bachelor???? I typically don’t watch these sorts of shows (Trista & Ryan was the last one I watched.  Give me a break, I was in college, it’s what college girls do…), but with only 2 channels coming in our TV – my selection is limited.

Can I just say – HOLY FRICKIN COW – they really picked a bunch of winners*  for this season!  Almost every single one of those woman** should be ashamed of themselves.  They are the stereotypical epitome of insane/crazy females.  Seriously!!!!! I will admit – there are 3 or 4 that seem like decent human beings, but oh man, I could go on for a while – I’ll stop here – just had to put that out there to see if anyone agreed with me!

(and yes, you could argue “Well, Allison – if the show makes you that angry, just don’t watch it.”  It’s a train wreck – I can’t help but keep watching! )

*serious sarcasm

** can we really call them “women”?

I saw one part of one episode, uuuggghh. I found it hilarious that homegirl was hooking up with the producer. I really feel that anything good that comes out of the show will show up on “The Soup” anyway, so I do not watch.

I liked what you had to say – you should start a blog or something, A :) bahahahahahha

I need to check out restaurant.com I keep hearing such good things.

As for chains, that salad looks great! I wish Boneyard was in California.

no no no allison… what you have to do is watch the bachelor while texting with mama pea building your own self esteem by shredding those poor idiotic women for a full two hours!

i’m telling you… it’s better than therapy!
hahahaha

I’ve never tried those popchips but the sourcream are ridiculous!

That pop chip flavor is amazing!!! So is the cheddar cheese flavor. Wowza. And omg yes to the Bachelor. We watch it just to crack up. They’re all crazies!!! And they’re all a bunch of criers too.

Amazing looking plate of salad there and such a huge plate! I don’t know how you can eat so much vegetables at one go!

oh man- I so need to hit up the grocery store again too. When we get low on fruit, I get angry! Great din din out. The salad looks very yum. Love when they don’t skimp on the avocado. Naturally more is incredible…I just may be eating some right now ;)

If you don’t really LIKE The Bachelor but want to rejoice in the utter ridiculousness of it you should give Lincee’s blog a read.

She’s completely hysterical and spot on with her observations. I’ve been reading her recaps since about the 3rd or 4th season when she emailed them out to hundreds of people.

PS: That salad looks amazing!!!

ali is cute, so is tenely. so glad elizabeth got kicked off!
girl ive never heard of that popchip flava! where did you find it?!

[Reply]

Um yeah…don’t even get me started on the Bachelor! I don’t know how I let myself start watching it again…it’s so fake! I know Reid, from last seasons Bachelorette, and he gave me some inside scoop about how staged the show is… Yet I still find it entertaining?

every time I have OR SEE pop chips, I think of you!!!

cobb salad looks delicious!!

[Reply]

That’s why I don’t watch those reality shows. It gives people in general a bad name LOL!

I have yet to find Popchips around here…

I’ve been watching “The Bachelor” (like you, because we have five channels to choose from) and am just disgusted, albeit, entertained, by the women on the show. I truly hope some of them are just playing some sort of character in the name of “good” television.

[Reply]

It seems like a lot of reality shows have begun a downward slide into more and more crazy and less “real” cast members! Kind of a shame I think…

[Reply]

i just laughed out loud at your reasoning for watching trista and ryan in college. you know you loved it then and you know you love it now :)

[Reply]

agree. train wreck you can’t take your eyes off of.

You ALWAYS crack me up Allison! I don’t typically watch The Bachelor only if something or someone in it sparks my attention. This year it was the whole SCANDAL about one of the girls getting into a relationship with one of the producers and getting booted off :D Now, I am forever hooked on this season and dying to know what is next LOL….I am not sure I have a favorite girl yet, but, there are several that make for great entertainment.

AVOCADO makes anything salad perfect IMO. :)

The Bachelor cracks me up! I don’t know how real the crazy is- I like to tell myself that ABC edits it to be that way… I don’t want to believe that girls as crazy as Michele, etc! (I love reading the spoilers on http://www.realitysteve.com)

I need to try those popchips- I’ve had a few other flavors and haven’t liked them, so maybe I would like your parm flavor!
