Why hello fabulous friends!
I hope everyone had a great weekend! Sorry for no post yesterday, and being MIA for the past 24 hours – I decided I should just unplug this weekend, and step away from all things “computer”! I missed you, but it was a great decision!
Saturday morning I got up and did my training run with Kristin OUTDOORS! This January thaw is a god send, I can’t wait for spring because running on the treadmill on snowy days is the worst punishment I can imagine! (I know, SOOO dramatic over here!
)
Breakfast when I got home:
No, not a bowl full of egg – look closer…
There’s spicy oats hiding under there
After breakfast, I headed out with my friend Angelina to do some shopping – which included stopping here:
More on that in another post!
Saturday night – we’d been invited up to my parent’s Lake House – and since it’s only an hour drive, and a nice change of pace – we happily accepted!
We brought some appetizers, and broke them out the second we walked in the door:
Oh yeah – and of course of Sauv Blanc too!
The highlight of the appetizers, in my opinion…
Some cheese Angelina and I had purchased down at the Westside Market!
On the left, some AWESOME smokey cheddar, on the right, some tangy Irish whiskey cheddar (It was no Kerrygold, but it was good!)
I decided to be nice
and make dinner for everyone (it was the least I could do, right?) – I decided on the Roast Chicken with Balsamic Bell Peppers from this month’s Cooking Light (click dish title for recipe or check out pg. 78!) :grin
Finished chicken:
Finished peppers:
Salad, a la Mama:
All together:
A placemat on GDW?!?!?!
That’s unheard of!
3 out of 4 “Radar” ears – they use it to know when to beg for food!
The rest of the night was spent chatting, enjoying each other’s company, and playing some SERIOUS games of Boggle:
These two found game playing far less enjoyable/interesting than meal time:
More Boggle-ing:
More sleeping:
This was JUST the sort of Saturday that I needed!
Last – I have to show you my “battle wounds” from game playing (do you think I was just a LITTLE paranoid about other’s trying to cheat?!)

To be honest, I went a little nuts being away from the comp for 6 1/2 hours yesterday–not going to lie LOL. But looks like a fun time, and I want to know what was in that box!

I’m never playing Boggle with you guys again. You still kicked my butt with Manto, Banto and Fanto. Well, maybe I will play Boggle with your Dad.
