Flavor Tripping

2 very cool pieces of news to start you out with on this COLD Monday…

1st Janetha B (one of my blog besties) – just got ENGAGED, while on vacation in Jamaica!!!!  Head over and give her some love!  Congrats Janetha – I could not be happier for you and Marshall!   (are Penny & Randy going to the ring bearers?)

2nd – I won a kick butt contest over at Poise in Parma – and next Monday – I’ll be attending Stove Monkey’s Flavor Tripping on February 15th!!

Don’t know what flavor tripping is? Neither did I! But here’s a better explanation from HowStuffWorks.com: “Flavor tripping occurs when you consume a berry known as miracle fruit. The berry coats your tongue in such a way that foods taste differently. Specifically, sour foods taste sweet. A lemon suddenly tastes like lemonade. Cheese tastes like frosting, and vinegar tastes like apple juice.”

Pretty awesome, right? I can’t WAIT!  Thanks Alicia!  I can’t wait to attend – AND have the opportunity to meet you! :)

As far as food goes yesterday – I was pretty lame (probably due to the copious amount of wine I consumed which led to me waking up with a hummus spoon on my boot…)

Breakfast/Lunch – was a McDonald’s McChicken (OH YES I DID!), while driving home, with two dogs, up IN.MY.BUSINESS.

While I don’t have an actual picture – I did my best to re-create the event:

dbreakfast for real

Get the idea?  Yes, I’m the safest driver in the world.  (Dad – I’ll save you the lecture, let’s just say I yelled at myself already – K?)

For Lunch/Dinner – I was SERIOUSLY craving a Reuben, and lucky for me – we had all the ingredients I needed at home!

I just took a FlatOut, made my own Thousand Island (it’s just ketchup, mayo and dill relish, my friends! ) – and topped it with sliced turkey, sauerkraut and swiss.

Baked it for 10 minutes on 350:

Reuben heaven!   And WAY healthier than any Reuben I would have went out at bought!

That’s all I got – I told you I was pretty lame yesterday!   Who is excited for the Bachelor tonight????

Allison (or readers) – I need HELP! This past weekend I was feeling frisky and decided to buy a jar of that Heat Is On peanut butter. So far, I’m not really loving it…so aside from driving up to Cleveland and dropping it off on your doorstep, what can I do to use it up? I’m thinking turning it into a sauce for spicy thai type noodles. Any recipe ideas for spicy peanut butter???
