Preparedness

So far this month – I feel like I’ve been “one week on, one week off”.

One week, I’ll be eating great, very conscientious about sticking to my training plan, being healthy, and then next week, I decided to take totally off, and basically revert back to college eating.

This week, is one of those “revert weeks”!

Funny thing is – I know what the catalyst is behind all the changes – PREPAREDNESS.  On weeks I’m all stocked up on groceries, and have a work out plan – I’m on track.  On weeks I wing it – I wing it!

Breakfast – free bagel brought in my Kristin:  (at least I only ate half!)

 2.11 008

Lunch – Progresso 100 calorie soup:

2.11 009

which didn’t fill me up at all, so when Kristin offered me the rest of her vegan chili – I took her right up on it!   Oh yeah – and my standard side of pickles!

2.11 010

Followed up with a very artificially sweet (albeit delicious) snack, topped off with the last of my [me]&goji creation!

2.11 011

After work – we headed out to Winking Lizard for a work happy hour, since Tyler, from our New York office, was in town.

2.11 018

Go ahead – tell me you are jealous of my job.  It’s okay.

Since I usually go for wine (have I mentioned this to you?) – I had trouble deciding on a beer – so I went with the sampler:

2.11 012

From left to right: some Cherry Stout (ehh), Hoegaarden (yum!), Magic Hat #9 (apricot-y!), and Stella Artois (BLECH, IT TASTED LIKE RUBBER)

Side note – the iPhone app Shazam is AWESOMEEEEEEEEE!  I would totally consider buying an iPhone for this app alone!

2.11 014

To go with our beers – we just order a whole bunch of different appetizers, and munched on all of them throughout the night.

Nachos and black bean rolls:

2.11 015

Fried ravioli:

2.11 016

My favorite – spin dip!

2.11 017

What was supposed to be a “happy hour” turned into a happy evening seeing as by the time I got home and situated – I was in bed well after midnight!  Thanks for a great evening guys!

does the second sample of beer have an orange slice on it? if so, and that’s the one you liked, you should drink blue moon!

have you had that? YUM a staple at my house… and a couple of those is what usually leads to me eating like a college kid again. although there isn’t a 7-11 near my house these days, so at least the 1 a.m. slurpee trips no longer occur!
YIKES!

You didn’t like the Stella? Thats my favorite beer!!

[Reply]

I with ya on the Stella – it makes me wanna vom.

When I was 18, I lived in Ireland & for some reason, Stella was the cheapest beer @ 2 Euros each. We all drank a ton of it, obviously, but I’ve always thought it was nastyyy!

Hello nachos!! YUM!!

Bleh isn’t Stella Artois so GROSS? People are always talking about how great it is but I can’t get past that skunky smell – it smells like weed! Oh and I live in St. Louis and those fried ravioli are one of the famous foods here! They’re called Toasted Ravioli here though.

Fried ravioli is amazing! I think it is all about planning ahead to eat healthy. If I don’t then I’m like you and just wing it :)
