So I have a confession to make…
I hardly EVER check voicemail.
There. I said it. I currently have 4 unheard voicemails on my phone, and I know for a fact that the first 2 are from as early as last Wednesday. I never used to be like that, but with the invention of texting, I’ve become horrible with checking voicemail!
I feel so much better now that I’ve gotten that off of my chest!
And if you are a friend waiting for a call back – now you know why it takes me 2 weeks!
Yesterday was a WHIRLWIND, but all in a great way!
I wanted to get my 14 mile run in before Mike came home – so I was up early (too early for the weekend, thanks to the time change) – and started with a protein packed wrap:
3 egg whites, 1 chicken sausage, spinach, and brie. Breakfast wrap HEAVEN!
+ a large mug of French Vanilla coffee to get me going!
After my food settled, it was out the door for my long run, which while it was slower than I wanted, and my leg did hurt – I have to say it went ‘better than expected’ (read: I was certain I was going to die doing it, so the fact I made it home was fantastic. Yeah – so dramatic, I know, I know!)
Fuel for the run:
POST RUN fuel:
We went all out and got pizza & Spicy Garlic boneless wings from Gionino’s down the street:
This was the best post long run indulgence I’ve had in a while! I was very happy when I was finished eating!
As if the afternoon couldn’t have gotten any better- Mike and I decided it was time to celebrate – and I broke out my old college Bloody Mary recipe:
Wanna see how I make it??
Check out the video here!
I had enough Bloody Marys over the afternoon, that dinner never really happened, I just stood at the counter shoving left over pizza in my mouth. Like a lady.
Shortly after the pizza stuffing – I knew it was time to call it a night!
Okay – I confessed my cell phone weakness to you up top – What is your cell phone weakness???? Texting? Returning phone calls? Let’s hear it!

I never, ever check my messages either. It is really bad. What is with us people??? Pizza is so heavenly after a long run. I did a 15k UPHILL race yesterday in Portland and afterward beer and mac n cheese was a perfect reward! Cheers for running–good job!

I am horrible about my phone because I have email and texting on my phone, so if people really need to get a hold of me… they can text me or email me and I will get back to them much faster!! I also can never get a phone number if they tell it to me in a phone message!!

I hate checking my voicemail too. My old phone would delete them after four weeks, so I would just wait for them to be deleted (true story). My blackberry doesn’t do that. Darn it! So now I will probably check them, but now for AT LEAST 2 weeks.
Don’t feel so ashamed

If I do not want to talk to a caller I can just hit the silent mode button:D And I don’t check voicemail too. I’d just checked for missed calls. Love that breakfast of yours. And I can’t imagine running 18 miles! 2 miles and I am already like dead:P

I don’t check voicemail either. Honestly, I don’t understand why people even leave voicemail on a cell phone. They know that you’ll see that they called. Especially if the voicemail is just like, “Hi, call me back.”

I’m so bad with voicemail to. I try to check them, but I figure if it’s someone that knows me well enough, they’d text. I’m more apt to call someone if I see a missed call from them than if they leave a voicemail. I just find it too annoying to check – wow! I’m that lazy! Ah well, at least we know we’re not the only ones.

Ugh I am soooo bad at checking voicemails too! I have one from…get this…JANUARY! This goes along with one of my biggest pet peeves: people leave voicemails that simply say “Hey, it’s XXX. Call me back when you get this.” So. Useless.
Love your bloody mary video/recipe! Terrific way to refuel after a long run!

Can I just say that I think my step-son won the award for last month??
Talked on the phone: 2,862 minutes = 47.7 HOURS and 3,922 text messages – all in 30 days!
I text like old people have sex – slow and sloppy!

I have a feature where I can record a voice message and it shows up as a voicemail to whoever I send it to.
This is a particularly valuable tool in the face of online dating. I may or may not have (but definitely did) let down someone easy using this method recently.

I only check my voicemail to get rid of the little icon that tells me I have a new voicemail because it annoys me to no end! But I never listen to them…I just delete them…I know it’s terrible!
