The yummyness of yesterday’s breakfast was stuck in my head ALL DAY AND NIGHT – so when I woke up yesterday – I knew I had to make it again!
Only – I was out of Flatout wraps – and left with bread:
And lets face it – ^THAT^ looks messy.
I knew I wouldn’t enjoy it if I ate it sloppily/quickly – so I concocted my own little “to go” wrap:
Not to shabby, huh? And the best news – I walked into work FULL, and with stain-free clothing!
Once I got going at my desk – I made sure to change my computer background to some beautiful and GREEN

Isn’t it funny to think something as simple as a color can make a person happy?
I DID pack a sandwich for lunch – but when my friends suggested Melt, I caved IMMEDIATELY!

I can’t even control myself with these sandwiches anymore – they are seriously amazing!
Their special for the month of March was ‘The Reuben’ – what do you think I ordered???
SO GOOD! I can always only eat 1/2 of the sandwich – and then I save the rest for about 4 hours later (because it definitely takes at least 4 hours to get hungry again!)
The 2nd half made a great early/tide-me-over dinner at 5pm!
After work – I went home and walked the pups, and then my friend Angelina came over to hang out. We got to chatting about stuff (you know, LIFE), and finally around 8pm, we headed to dinner down in Tremont!
I’ve had a Restaurant.com certificate to Lago for ages – and we thought St. Patty’s Day was the perfect time to AVOID the bars, and go to a REAL restaurant!
And I should mention – they have a fabulous Sauv Blanc from New Zealand! So fragrant! (and I don’t use words like that with wine usually!)
Their menu has a TON of delicious sounding items – so we thought it would be best if we picked two items, and just tested them both out!
Item 1:
Grilled Scallops
Pancetta-corn ragu, truffle oil
Fresh, salty, sweet, delicious! YUM!
Item 2:
Sweet Potato Gnocchi
Duck confit, apple and pecorino salad

SO DISAPPOINTING!
The cheese and greens on top were wonderful, but the duck/gnocchi on the bottom was one disgusting blob – you couldn’t tell what was duck, and what was sweet potato! I really was so sad – the description sounded wonderful – but it was a HUGE let down!
Despite the gnocchi let down – I WOULD go back to Lago – I’ve eaten there before and it’s been delicious! I think sometimes – you just get a BAD dish!
What’s the BEST dish you’ve ever ordered in a restaurant? What’s the WORST dish? Did you send it back??

The best dish would have to be Tommaso’s(local italian trattoria) margerita pizza–it’s seriously better than all I’ve had except 1 in Rome. And worst, hmm… I’m so picky when I’m ordering, I always get what I want

I hate it when food isn’t as good as I think it’s going to be!

Melt is such a great name for a restaurant. That sandwich looks amazing!
I don’t think I could come up with a favorite restaurant meal. At a lot of places I order pasta with shrimp and tomato sauce and I’ve never been disappointed with that.

That breakfast sandwich looks awesome…messy or not I think it looks better on the bread than the flatout wrap (and I’m a huge flatout fan)
Because I was a server I try really hard not to send meals back, but a 2 weeks ago I had the best parmesan truffle fries…AWESOME!

best thing i’ve ever ordered in a restaurant… i’m not sure i have an answer, but last night i went to a pasta/pinot dinner hosted by a winemaker whose wine club i belong to… he’s italian and it was at a local italian restaurant. one of the dishes was spinach ravioli with salmon inside (seriously the best tasting salmon ever), with a light lemon cream sauce. the lemon tasted so fresh and perfect in the sauce
