Spurted

So Julie wanted to know what the HECK I meant by “Boardwalk” fry  Some might refer to them as FRESH CUT fries:

12629

I just call them “Boardwalk” because we had one of these in the mall when I was growing up:

Glad we got that cleared up!

Breakfast yesterday – I managed to break away from my norm:

Flat Out with eggs, spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, and brie:

3.16 017

YUM, YUM, YUM!   I don’t know why – but it’s never crossed my mind to add sun-dried tomatoes to my eggs before!  So glad I did!

I ate breakfast at home – because I had an appointment to give blood at 8:30 (and I passed out one time when I didn’t eat enough before donating).

For those of you who follow me on Twitter – you know how my attempt and donating went.   In cased you missed it – here’s the tweet: Blood donating #FAIL – "spurted" (their word, not mine), fainted, then left a wet towel in my lap just long enough that it looks like I peed

3.17 040

Talk about a great first few hours at work – huh?

My peed-looking pants were especially awesome when I walked into our Division Lunch:

3.17 041

Free food = YAY!  Lots of your coworkers staring at your crotch = BOO!

Apparently I was on a carb kick yesterday – because rather than a piece of fruit for a snack – I decided a BAGEL (what?!@?) was an appropriate snack…

3.17 042

Followed up by some carby PRETZELS for dinner:

3.17 009

I didn’t even try to incorporate veggies – instead – I just worked in some cheese!

3.17 012

BLECH!  This is what happens when I don’t go grocery shopping – I end up eating whatever random crap food is laying around.    Bad, bad, bad.  Sure it tastes good for a second, but it leaves me feeling lethargic!   I really need some greens in my life!

How do you feel about St. Patrick’s Day?  I know for some – its their all time favorite holiday, for others it’s their day to pretend to be Irish, and for others – they HATE it.  I personally love it, but I always have to work, so I can’t celebrate it in true Irish fashion!   So how about you – LOVE St. Pat’s, HATE St. Pat’s, or somewhere in between? :???:

I was wondering what boardwalk fries were! Those look good. I think I’ve seen those places in the mall before too.

As for St. Patty’s day…I’m 100% irish and I hate it when I can’t go out and celebrate! :(

The words “spurted” and “blood” make me shiver

Oh no! That’s scary. I haven’t given blood before, but I’m afraid I would faint too.

I was also wondering what Boardwalk fries were. Thanks to Julie for asking!

I like St. Patrick’s Day, but its definitely not as fun because I have to work. I hopefully will grab a Guinness or two tonight.

Oh and I know the mall that had Boardwalk was Westgate. I remember being in middle school spending way too much trying to find cute boys to talk to. Oh yes I was too cool! Thanks for the flashback.

Ah ha! Now that I have a visual I get it. They do look good! Thanks for clearning that up for me!
I’m in between on St Patty’s day. I’ve never really gone all out for it, but wouldn’t mind it once.

Sorry to hear about the blood fail – at least you tried!! I was never able to give blood so I always volunteered and you people who pass out would scare me! St. Patty’s Day is just another day for me – if it weren’t during the week I’d probably celebrate :)

I like St Paddys Day! I do miss college when I could celebrate alll day but now that I’m an old lady I don’t mind just having a beer or two after work :) . There’s always the weekend to make up for lost time I guess!

Oh! I’m sorry about the “blood spill”. I used to give (or attempt to) plasma for a while in college when I was a little short on cash. But I have small veins and the needle went through the other side on more than one occasion. Yes, it’s as painful as it sounds (along with leaving quite the sassy bruise).
