After a night of partying hard – I, along with everyone who slept over – woke up craving some delicious, cheesy, carby, greasy goodness!
There was only one very easy, very delicious answer:
MELT!
I got the Smokey Russian – just like always! (but with some SWISS instead of Gouda – man do I LOVE Swiss cheese!)
I could only eat half of the sandwich before I had to call it quits!
After a quick nap, and some laying on the couch (hey – gimme a break – I ran 13 miles the day before) – I was ready to conquer the other half. So yeah – breakfast and lunch was a grilled cheese!
After a few more hours of laying around – I headed over to my parents house for my “Birthday Dinner”. My meal request – Reuben Casserole “Healthified”!
Usually – my Mom makes this with Corned Beef, and Rye Bread (smothered in butter)…
Last night – I requested she swap in turkey, instead of beef, and broccoli, instead of bread – and HOLD THE BUTTER!
The result?
Pure, reuben-y AMAZINGNESS. My mouth is watering right now even thinking about it! Have I mentioned I love Swiss cheese?
Serving 1 – OF 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Be jealous, it’s okay.
Oh yeah – and there was salad and sweet potato fries – but lets face it, the whole time I was eating them, I was pretending they were the Reuben casserole!
As if my Swiss cheese-filled day couldn’t get any better…
My parents surprised me with dessert from Main Street Cupcakes!!!!
I mean – for a girl who doesn’t like sweets – I sure have been eating a lot of cupcakes lately!
As soon as my Mom opened the box – the pink one with pretty sprinkles caught my eye. When she told me it was one of their champagne cupcakes – I knew I should trust my instincts!
LOVED IT! I think it was Berries and Champagne – but whatever it was – it was amazing! So far – the Chocolate Raspberry I had last Sunday is still my favorite though! Man – Main Street Cupcakes – I’m so glad you are in Rocky River now – but I’m not sure my waistline is saying the same!
As for my birthday present from my parents – well…it might not be exciting to YOU…
…BUT being the super cool, home-owning, dog-owning adult I am – THIS WAS A FREAKING AWESOME PRESENT, AND JUST WHAT I WANTED!
When did my life become so boring?!
What’s the most EXCITING present (lame or awesome alike) that you’ve ever received????

Those cupcakes get good business from you!
So I’m such a foodie to buy for. Last christmas it was a pizelle press, and this time it was a food processor. An espresso machine may be next?

That sandwich looks soooo good. I am also a sucker for Swiss cheese!
One of the best friends I ever received was a $100 gift card to Barnes & Noble. Bookstores are my weakness and I was not expecting it at all!

Happy Birthday!!
One of the best grown up presents I ever got was my KitchenAid stand mixer in cobalt blue. I LOVE that thing!! I asked for it for my anniversary (from my husband) years ago & it still makes me happy everytime I look at it!
