So let’s be honest – I don’t like that phrase (quick & dirty) – but that’s pretty much how this post is going to be, seeing as most of my time yesterday was spent high in the sky!
Quick & Dirty Fact 1: I did not run 14 miles yesterday, as planned. I was tired, sick, and our hotel wasn’t in the best part of town. Sure, you can say I’m full of excuses – but I’m going with it. And lord knows my body thanked me for the extra time off!
Fact 2: For our last Austin meal, we tried to go to Moonshine (recommended by ya’ll as “fabulous brunch”) – but the line was down the street!
So we kept looking for a place were we could just grab a seat, and stumbled on Cru.
No wait? I’ll take it.

It might have helped, too, that there were furry friends outside with us! Austin seems SO dog friendly and I OBVIOUSLY love that!
P.S. – this dog was seriously GINORUMOUS. When it stood up, I swear it’s head was at my chest level (and I’m approximately “Amazon” height according to Mike)
First things first, I order a regular coffee, and got:

Don’t get me wrong, I love “fancy” dining – but when I’m used to downing 20oz+ of coffee a morning – this little 5 oz cup of sludge just didn’t cut it!
Apparently we all had our eye on the same menu item – because 3 out of the 4 of us ordered the Crab Omelet: Eggs with Asparagus, Crab, Cheese & Mushrooms (I OBVIOUSLY ordered mine without mushrooms!)
Very tasty – and I must say – the absolute PERFECT portion size for breakfast! I ate all of it, and felt full, not stuffed to the gills!
I had to snag a picture of my MIL’s breakfast as well – how gorgeous does her Berry French Toast look?!
One last picture together – before Rachel and I left to catch our flights:

Fact 3: As for the rest of the day – it was fairly uneventful.
Checked my bag, got a REAL cup of coffee, and caught my first flight. My flight out of Austin was a little delayed, but nothing major, and when I landed in Chicago, I had just enough time to grab a quick bite to eat.
Chicago Midway Airport Veggie Pizza:
Filling, but gave me a stomach ache – should that really surprise me?
I finally got in at 9:30, and was greeted by my fabulous husband, and these two adorable faces
(This picture was actually taken last weekend, but really makes me laugh. Just like always – Lando is sitting, staring, waiting for some sort of reward/treat, like a spoiled little princess, who knows she’s loved – And Harvey is frightened/scared of her own shadow. I love my little rescue dog, she is such a sweet pea!)
Fact 4: Between Mike and the pups – I got LOTS of hugs and kisses yesterday!
I know my loved ones missed me!
Wanna know something funny?
I leave again this Thursday, to go to Wilmington, NC, to do the whole Friday wedding thing all over again! CRAZY!
Any one in Wilmington N.C. interested in meeting up?

The girls and I saw a dog like that behemoth today, but it had sunglasses on that were shaped like a tiara. Lulu wanted to ride her home

I was worried about your hatred of croutons, but we’re back on track now with our mutual dislike of mushrooms…….
Don’t you love welcome home kisses???

is it possible the furry friend at the breakfast joint was a newfie?!?! that’s what my “puppy” is (i use quotes b/c i’m not sure that word is appropriate for anything that weighs 100 lbs!!!)… only my “child” is brown.
they are the BEST (not that i’m biased at all)
i’m glad you had a good time in austin, but even more glad you arrived home to lots of kisses and hugs… let’s just hope some kisses were less slobbery than others
