Silver Spoon Awards Party

Ya’ll can knock Cleveland all you’d like – the fact of the matter is, today – I’ve got a marathon (OMG I’m running a marathon this weekend!!!?!?!?!) post that is hard PROOF that Cleveland does, in fact, ROCK!

Thanks to the Foodbuzz Foodie Correspondent Program, I had the awesome opportunity to attend The 16th Annual Cleveland Magazine Silver Spoon Awards Party!!!

SS 064SS 039SS 042

From their site:

The evening benefits the Arthritis Foundation, while giving Clevelander’s a strolling food and wine tasting event and one of Cleveland’s finest social and culinary evenings. Guests will sample delicious signature dishes from more than 20 of Northeast Ohio’s best restaurants and seven international wineries

All participating restaurants are 2010 Cleveland Magazine Silver Spoon Award Winners. Check out the impressive list here!

I’m just going to start right off with my 6 favorite dishes of the evening!  There was SO MUCH fantastic food and drink it was almost overwhelming but these dishes have been on my mind all day!

  • Parallax: Parallax Sushi Sampler
  • Flying Fig: Asparagus Prosciutto Crostini
  • Aladdin’s Eatery: Mujadara and hummus with pita
  • VegiTerranean: Bruschetta bar & vegan stuffed peppers (OH.MY.WORD!  There risotto stuffed pepper was PHENOMENAL!)
  • Pearl of the Orient: Grilled prawns pad Thai on skewer

Did I mention the wine?!

SS 029SS 016SS 036

Last Friday – I swore that I was not going to drink until after that marathon, but upon seeing so many delicious wines, I decided it just wouldn’t be right to let them all go un-tasted!

My favorite by far: La Linda Torrontes!

SS 034

From Argentina, it has a similar taste to a Sauv Blanc, just a little softer!  The reps who were working the event told me that I could go to Heinen’s and they would order it for me!  You better believe “Go to Heinen’s ASAP!” is now on my to-do list!

After a good 20 minute loop through the general room – Mike and I made our way to the VIP Lounge!  I love saying that – I feel so SPECIAL! :)   Thanks for the hook up Alicia!

SS 063

SWANKY!!!

A very special thank you to the Foodbuzz Foodie Correspondent program, and Alicia from the Arthritis Foundation, for allowing me the opportunity to attend!!!
