Better Than Cream Cheese?

That’s an awful lofty claim to make there, Tofutti!  But I’ll admit – I was intrigued, so I needed to test it out and make sure it lived up to it’s name!

I tried it plain over the weekend, and it was wonderful – but to make it even BETTER Better Than Cream Cheese – I added a packet of Lipton Vegetable Seasoning – to make it “Garden Veggie Cream Cheese:cool:

You can tell it’s “Garden Veggie” much better, once spread on a delicious TJ’s Everything Bagel:

I really want to eat this every day for breakfast, for the rest of my life.  Sorry Spicy Oats.

Snack – blackberries:

Lunch: Outside picnic of leftover Vegan Pad Thai (again!), with some Tamari sauce (which I’ve never had but turned out to be quite delicious!)

Afternoon snack: Flatty ‘naners & Smart Balance PB* (*which I don’t love in oatmeal, but do love on flattened bananas, apparently.)

For dinner – I went out with my “dinner group” – try try out Momocho’s for the first time!

I was pretty much in love with the look and feel of the whole place – VERY cool!

Another very cool thing???  I emailed the restaurant earlier in the day to see if he had any vegan tips, and the Head Chef personally emailed me back – HOW AWESOME IS THAT?!

Margarita to start

I ordered guacamole with pineapple, jicama, chile habanero, & mint for my meal:

Looks lame, but I assure you it was delicious!  I wish there would have been more pineapple in the guac, but I think that was only because I could definitely taste the HEAT from the habanero (which is a good thing for this spice lovin’ girl!)

I’m definitely looking forward to going back to Momocho after this challenge is over, so I can try more items on the menu (a TON of stuff sounded amazing, but all had meat!)!

My only complaint?!  HOLY COW it’s dark in there.   Like, SUPER DARK.  Hence why you only get one, slightly fuzzy picture of my awesome guac!

If you could dream up any sort of “specialty guacamole”  – what would yours have in it?????

Mine would have: pineapple, lots of jalapeno peppers, crab, shrimp, tomatoes, banana peppers, and cheese.

I just love plain guac with some extra hot peppers :)

On another note – aren’t the chips at Momocho ridiculously delicious??? You definitely need to go back after this challenge is over because they have some really great, creative tacos you need to try!

I’ve been playing around with the thought of caramelized onion guacamole in my head since Memorial day

The menu for Momocho’s looks so good. I would make a trip to OH just to eat there!

Is that drink vegan? ;)

that is SUCH a clever addition to the tofutti!

I doubt it’s better than cream cheese when the 2nd ingredient is partially hydrogenated soybean oil! Yuck!

I looooove gucamole..avocados make everything better :D

Have you tried the Tofutti Cuties? They’re good.

oooh I love tamari! I use it a lot as regular soy sauce has wheat in it!

Guacamole? What’s that? Believe it or not, I have never seen it for real nor have I tasted any. But sure looks like a good dip judging from the ingredients.

Now you’re at Momocho???!! That’s on my and Jay’s restaurant “to try” list!!
*jealous* :)

This new bagel in lieu of your spicy oats? I don’t buy it :)

I have to say, I’m a plain old guac girl – but get those onions away from me. Lime, garlic, avocado and tomato are just fine.

I miss you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love Momocho! Any time that you want to hit up their happy hour- let me know. Great deals and delicious food. Can’t wait to check out their newly installed patio!

Yeah, I gotta go with Quinn on this, I don’t want weird fruits in my guac.
