Highlight Reel

Looks like weekend posts just aren’t happening these days, thanks to a beautiful Cleveland summer!

But that just makes the Monday Morning Highlight Reel that much better, right? :)

Friday Highlight: Sushi Rock lunch date with Mike!

7.11 020

Nothing beats getting away from a desk full of stress more, than lunch with your handsome husband!

7.11 0217.11 0247.11 025

Mike – The Dragon: shrimp tempura, crabstick, cucumber, avocado, unagi

Mine – The Beachwood: spicy chopped crab, cucumber, avocado, topped with sesame seeds & nori flakes

7.11 030

Seriously. Awesome.  I have a major sushi problem these days  – it’s all I want to eat!

Saturday Highlight: not so sure you could call it the HIGHLIGHT, but Mike and I signed up to run the Winking Lizard Shot in the Dark 4 mile run.

Thrilled, obviously.

7.11 0087.11 007

It always seems like its a good idea to sign up for this junk at the time!

Reasons why I hated the race:

  • It was hot. HOT. HOT. HOT.
  • 5pm start time does not = dark.
  • I was hungover.
  • Hangover = bad.attitude.
  • I did nothing to train, AND this was my longest run since the marathon
  • I drank no water all day long
  • The entire race was uphill (okay, that’s an exaggeration, but just lemme go with it)
  • They were out of water at the finish line

The good news?  I ran at an average 11:49/mile pace – which for me is CRAZY fast! :)

After we finished – I was totally spent!   Those 4 miles took every last bit out of me.  So much so, I could not even be bothered to get my key off of my shoe (I ran with it through my laces so I didn’t have to hold it).

7.11 009

Instead – I did this:

7.11 012

Some days, it’s the littlest tasks that seem the biggest

While all our friends went out after the race, me and my crabby @$$ needed to go home and shower, so as to improve my attitude!

We eventually ended up going over to my brother’s to hang out, and the lovely Heather stopped over to visit as well!

She brought us some awesome treats, as a thank you for watching Diddy while they were on vacation!  Being the ever so thoughtful people they are, J and Heather made sure to get treats for our WHOLE family!

For Mike: Fat Tire

For Me: Sauvignon Blanc

7.11 041

For Lando & Harvey:  Special Savannah Puppy Cookies & Puppy Crack!

Sunday Highlight: Getting an email from my best friend Meri, with our bridesmaid dress selection!  She picked the color, and we each get to pick the style of dress we like the most!

So tell me – out of the Jenny Yoo Eastern Silk Shantung collection, what is your favorite KNEE LENGTH dress???

(Things to keep in mind: It’s an outdoor summer wedding, we will be wearing the Persian Pink color, and I’ve got a big chest, and big hips!)

I’m loving sushi again as well. We need to go to Pacific East when you get your ass on this side of town again :-D

[Reply]

My wedding dress is Jenny Yoo!!

I like the Becca (gotta love the pockets) and the Emmerson. Oooh wait, and the Blair!

Can someone explain to me the difference between the Bacall and Marissa?!

[Reply]

You got FAT TIRE as a gift?! I am so super duper jealous!

[Reply]

I love the top two dresses. But since you “have a big chest” (your words, not mine – haha), I’d go with the one shoulder dress!!! Something unique but FUN!

[Reply]

I have the same running shoes. Have never though to use em as a key chain, though.

Sorry the race didn’t go well for you. At least you did it! That’s all that matters!

I love the Becca (not just because it’s my name) and the Phoebe. All beautiful dresses!

[Reply]

I like the Marni and Becca for your body type I think…

Are you going to get a chance to try on a few styles? I’m always wary of ordering w/o trying on.

[Reply]

Love the Dylan! I think the one-shoulder look is so cool!

[Reply]

As someone who shares the same..ahem…top heaviness, I would say the Marni or the Becca. Love dresses I can wear a REAL bra with.

Why wasn’t that race at…9pm? Or something? Seems a little like false advertising to say shot in the dark race and then start it at 5pm. Odd.

[Reply]

I could eat sushi every day!
I like the Leah. I understand big chests and I would say no to strapless unless its super tight so you dont have to do the whole pulling it up all night thing or looking too boobalicious.(which is my problem in strapless dresses)

[Reply]

I really like the red one on the far right end of my middle row…so fun that you get to pick the style!!

[Reply]

Wow, with all those things stacked against you, kudos for finishing the 4 miles!

Have you tried Fat Tire’s light beer? It’s called Skinny Dip and its really good. But you can never go wrong with blanc! :D

[Reply]

Definitely Dylan or Blaire! Plus, I adore those names :)

[Reply]

Gorgeous dresses! My vote is for the Dylan or the Nellie! :)

[Reply]

OMG, that picture of your shoe made me laugh out loud! I knew we were friends for a reason. :)

My vote is for the Phoebe or Marni – LOVE!

[Reply]

I’m always on a sushi kick but I’ve never been to Sushi Rock. There’s something about the place that turns me off plus I found a place nearby that is amazing.

I’d say for your body type the Nellie, Leah or Marni would look best. I like the Becca but I think finding a bra to wear with it would be a pain and buying a special bra for a dress is unnecessary.

[Reply]

You crack me up. Races always seem like a good idea at the time…good for you for doing it though! I’d totally back out.
I like Dylan, Nellie, Becca, Marnie and Leah. But good luck picking one out cause they all are really cute!!

[Reply]

i would like to discuss how spending the morning with me on saturday was not on the weekend highlight reel?

also holy fast time for the race!! nice work!

[Reply]

Love, love, love the Dylan. But as a fellow big chester, I’d go with the Emmerson for the most flattering fit.

[Reply]

Ok, so I seriously need to hang out with you and Heather :) I like the Nellie best. The ribbon waist isn’t so huge that its obnoxious, and it is NOT strapless. There is nothing more UNflattering than pulling up a dress all night!

P.S. Any ideas on when we are doing another blogger dinner?

[Reply]

the emmerson or phoebe.

wishing your friend shared this idea with her other brides.

[Reply]

Props on your 4 miler. I probably would’ve just wimped out. I love the Taylor. I’m into the one shoulder, asymmetrical look right now.

[Reply]

Marni and Phoebe!!

[Reply]

I think you would look amazing in the Dylan and the Nellie was a close runner up! Let me know what you pick!!

[Reply]

i love the yellow one (becca) -and bonus that it has pockets!!

[Reply]

The Blaire, Marni, Nellie or Emmerson b/c they are all pretty and you can wear a regular bra with all of them…always a plus for us bustier girls!

The Blaire is my favorite out of all though.

[Reply]

First of all, I am laughing so hard at the shoe with the key in the ignition.

Second of all, you are awesome!! Great run!!

And finally, I think that most of the ones in the bottom row would work (trying to think of your supposedly big rack and big hips.)

[Reply]

I like the Dylan, the one shoulder number :)

[Reply]

Girl you are crazy! Also? You need a shoe pouch stat! :D

I like Emmerson because it’s got the least going on. All the others have those huge sashe/knot/tie things on the side! That might get annoying after about 10 minutes.

[Reply]

Phoebe Phoebe Phoebe!!!

[Reply]

i like them ALL!!! the Dylan, Marissa, Phoebe, and Blaire are top picks. and the top choice would be the Marni.
