Happy Allison!
While there is DEFINITELY something to be said for easy breakfasts on the go…

…sure leaves a lot to be desired in terms of food photography!
Eating salads for multiple meals in 1 week can be boring.
BUT!!!
If you take the time to make your salads sassy
it can be interesting and fun!
Variety is the spice of life, after all!
Boring salad…

= Super Mega Awesome Salad!

For a girl who used to NEVER EVER let her foods touch, I sure have come to love crazy combinations!
Also – I have an addiction – someone help me…

I got through a pint of grape tomatoes a day. That’s not normal, right?
I had to sneak out of a work a few minutes early to get my hairs-did (read: dyed – but I’m not ready to show you yet because I’m not sure I like it) so by the time I was actually able to eat dinner – it was after 8pm!
Cooking was out of the question, and Chipotle was definitely the answer!

Vegetarian Burrito Bowl (with an INSANE amount of Chipotle Tabasco – you see it in the background there?! I used ALL of it!)
Which brings me to a pet peeve I need to share with you guys…
Does anyone else actually CRINGE while watching someone make their sub/salad/sandwich/burrito when you got to a “Made to Order” establishment?
Last night the kids at Chipotle were just literally throwing, smacking, globbing ingredients on to everyone’s order. When my guac got ALL OVER 1/3 of the edge of my bowl, and then girl SQUISHED it all together while putting the lid on – it’s ALL I could think about on the way home!
I know the kids behind the counter are getting paid almost nothing (Mike worked at Subway back in the day – I NEVER ACTUALLY complain to the employee, don’t worry!), so I don’t expect PICTURE PERFECT food. It’s just funny to stop and think – they probably make their own food like that!
Even growing up – I made sure all of my sandwiches were neatly made, very symmetrical and clean. But hey - maybe that’s me. Or maybe that just speaks more towards my OCD with symmetry and clean edges!
How about you – do you THROW your food together, or are you slow and methodical?

I’m more of a throw together type person. It bothers me more when they skimp on stuff, like at Subway. If I get a veggie sub, I want a lot of veggies – that is all I am getting. Plus, it’s not their lettuce anyways so why do care how much they give me.
Brady on the other hand is very methodical and will recut things I cut into smaller pieces. For example if I make him a salad for lunch, he will cut the veggies smaller even after I cut them. And he is very careful with arranging sandwiches or burgers or whatever.
Not sure you wanted that much info, but that’s what you got!

I never complain either but it drives me *crazy* when people aren’t careful with sauces, etc. At the movies when we get pretzel bites me nacho cheese the husband now just asks them to be careful in advance because I pretty much cry if the cheese spills on my pretzels!

I’m going to sound like a crotchety old lady but um, I really don’t think teens/early 20 somethings really give a crap or have an understanding about other people. It’s not their sandwich, so what do they care? It’s very off putting and most times I won’t patronize whatever business. Just happened to me this week at the farmer’s market! Made me completely uninterested in checking out that booth because the way the college kids running it were acting. I’m done being a grumpy old lady. LOL

I cringe at Subway when I ask for a tiny bit of dressing and the person drenches my sandwich in it. Or at coffee shops when I ask for 1/2 the amount of syrup in a drink, and the barista puts in 1/2 the amount SHE would put in, which equals 5 times the amount I was asking for.
This is why I love my cafe job. I make my own sandwiches and drinks. It’s basically a dream job!

WAIT.. I have a burning question.. You can get the Tobasco sauce to go?? I never even thought of that, and it’s one of the reasons I NEED to eat my burrito in the restaurant. Doesn’t it come out in a dribble?
I kind of think it’s funny when they just glob crap on my burrito/bowl. Is that weird? I really don’t care how sandwiches, etc are put together. But if I make a pb&j and there’s stuff on the side, I have to lick it off first before biting into the sandwich, haha.
