Condiment Queen

I love any day where 2 out of my 3 meals are free  What can I say, I’ve always been girl who loves a deal!

Kristin offered to bring in bagels for the group (since we were out later than usual the night before) – and when morning came around – I was seriously grateful.

Fun fact (that you might not care about) – our entire department is OBSESSED with Everything Bagels.  None of that Cinnamon Swirl, Blueberry stuff, we always go straight up Everything.

8.26 044

Lunch was one of our monthly summer cookouts (YAY! – more free food!) and they always have veggie burgers, which I really love!

8.26 046

I usually bring my own salad dressing, but apparently things got out of hand.

I didn’t really realize how much I’d brought outside, until my lovely coworkers modeled, while simultaneously making fun of me!

8.26 049

Fine.

Maybe hummus, mustard, ranch, and hot sauce are unnecessary.

8.26 050

I just figured – better safe than sorry.  You know know when a random condiment craving will come, right?

Maybe I underestimated my problem.  Perhaps it’s not actually a mustard problem, but a condiment problem…

I’ll seek help, don’t worry about me, I’ll be fine.

Dinner?

Honestly – it sucked.

8.27 023

After eating carbs all day I figured veggies would do me good.  The past two times I made roasted cauliflower it was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.

This time, I’m not sure what I did, but I blew it.

8.27 027

It ate it, because I hate wasting food, but it was gross, gross, gross.  I think I didn’t cook it long enough and used too much balsamic.  I don’t know.  All I know is…EW!

Did anyone notice my Twitter question yesterday?  I wanted to know (this was obviously sparked by my lunch time condiment intervention) – if you combined hummus and mustard (which I think would be tasty), would you call it hummtard, or mustmus?

Discuss.

Room Temperature

Yesterday my food was mundane as can be – you’ve seen the pictures before!

It was the Happy Hour date that I had after work that I was really looking forward to! :)

The place – Clifton Martini & Wine Bar

8.26 016

The players?  All of my lovely Yawpfest planning committee friends!

8.26 017

BEAUTIFUL weather, delicious wine, and catching up with friends? I can’t imagine a better time!

8.26 0198.26 020

Jess ordered a meat plate for the table to split – which we all dove right in to!

8.26 022

After about a half hours – I noticed this face sitting across the patio:

8.26 032

In case you didn’t know – my first dog ever was a Boxer (Murphy – he was truly the greatest dog that ever lived) – and I’m officially a nutzo when I see one.

8.26 024

Of course, because I’m an INSANE dog woman – I had to go over and ask I could take their picture…

8.26 026

…and I’m SO GLAD I did!

Turns out the dogs owner was fellow Cleveland blogger – Shibani of CLEShopaholic, who I hadn’t had the pleasure of meeting in person before!

8.26 027

How funny is that?   We chatted for just a minute, but both agreed a drink together is in our near future – we’ve got a lot in common!

Happy Hour then turned in to Happy Evening, as we made our way to another location – for some pizza and another round of drinks

Our choice – The Third Place, A Tavern

8.26 033

We ended up order a cheese pizza & boneless wings for the table to split – and it was all absolutely delicious!

8.26 035

Everything in moderation, right?

What I really loved about the pizza? They served it on a pedestal so that it cooled faster.  I’ve always preferred room temperature food – I know that sounds weird, but it’s true!

8.26 038

Yay for fantastic friends, and nights that run WAY longer than you anticipated!

8.26 039

I know we’ve talked about hot coffee before, but how do you prefer your food?  Piping hot?  Room temperature?  Cold leftovers?

I ALWAYS want it room temperature.  I’ll let hot stuff sit for long time to cool off, and I’ll take leftovers out of the fridge and just barely heat them up.  I don’t want them totally reheated, just slightly warmed!

In your face

There is no such thing as personal space when it comes to my dogs.

8.25 001

In YOUR FACE – all hours of the day.    Gotta love it, right?

8.25 002

That is what every waking (at home) moment of my life looks life.    Could be worse, right?

Since eggs are a bit of a “no-no” right now – I decided to take the plunge and finally try (after 28 years on this planet) – Egg Beaters

8.25 009

Honestly – I don’t really see what they are all about.  The package was expensive and the taste was very “MEH” :???:

8.25 013

I’ll be able to finish the container off, but I definitely don’t think I’d buy another one. Sorry Egg Beaters!

I’ll take my non-salmonella-poisoned egg white sandwiches back, please!

As for the rest of the days eats – it was another mustard infused hodge podge!

Apparently I’ve been feeling indecisive with my food decisions lately, and a little of a whole ‘lotta selection sounds way better than a ‘lotta one selection!

Lunch & Snacks:

I can’t stop eating those mini Tostitos!  They are wonderful!  I’m super MAD (wink, wink) that my cousin left them at our house!

What sort of of meal do you prefer?  Lots of variety in smaller portions, or little variety in larger portions?

For me – it all depends on the day!  Usually I think I lean towards less variety, larger quantity – but this week, I’ve been loving variety! :)
